What in the actual hell.

Is this real?

Does it come with HDR/Dolby Vision?

Aw fudge! This better not be a prank.

I'll pick up a copy this Tuesday (if it exists) and give my folks the standard release.

That's a hell of a screw up, changing the cover art entirely, putting a 4K Ultra HD logo on the back and also putting a sticker on the front which clearly indicates it's a 4K release. And if it's a gag then someone's been DAMNED thorough, they even went to the trouble of shrink-wrapping it and everything!

Looks totally legit to me, the only question is what the **** are Target smoking for them to not promote this thing in any way, shape or form?

The Ultra HD Blu-ray logo is on the back (see pics in main post), and the whole design is different from the main Blu-ray one.

I showed the packaging in the main post...? Lol

Idk about smearing or anything (the packaging is designed to look worn), but I got this right from Target’s shelves and they had maybe 6-10 of them next to the normal black Blu-ray version.

I’ll take pics of the discs when I get home!

Majorally weird, I called 2 local ones and they hadn't seen a UHD version. Wonder if it will sneak out this week.

Yeah.

If it is a joke/prank, the dude better be perma-banned.

It's weird that Netflix not only didn't advertise this--but as far as I know, they haven't released any of their content in 4K yet as far as their physical media is concerned.

For instance, you can only get Jessica Jones and Daredevil on regular blu-ray.

I'll be rather pissed if this is legit, but it wouldn't be the first time I upgraded to 4K shortly after buying the original blu-ray (Get Out comes to mind).

I suppose it's possible there was a production delay on getting the 4K discs finished at the same time. But I think it's just as likely that they planned for everyone to buy the Blu-ray/DVD combo (just before Season 2 aired) and then follow up with the release of the 4K/Blu-ray combo, and hoping that folks (especially fans) would consider both releases collectible and double dip.

It's definitely one hell of a marketing blunder, which just adds to the mystifying marketing of the lack of promotion of the original set - they could have a lot of frustrated 4K fans wanting to return their opened Blu-ray/DVD sets.

BRB. Going to Target to check this out!

(Still, $10 for the regular blu-ray on BF is super tempting)

So, no one can go to Target?

Ok, this comes out on 11/28 according to the info I got from my nearest Target.

The OP should return his since the rest of us can't get it until officially released.

Netflix and Target both. It's almost like they don't want it to sell and then turn around and say, "see, people want streaming instead."

They're smoking some serious reefer, dude.

No offense but, it's 7:40pm here on the east coast and a 4K release of a release most of us just bought on Blu-ray mere weeks ago isn't going to get me out of the house If it's around on 4K for some time, I'll bite later. I am not going to show Target that what they've done with this release is acceptable and open my wallet back up. Forget that.

If there's actually a 4k version, that's the one to get. The show was finished in 4k. It's not an upconvert.
