I'm before your time, but also served with the Rangers. Also served with a mechanized unit when Desert Shield/Storm kicked off. Always pisses me off that they didn't let us finish our job back then. Like you, I have a hard time with Saving Private Ryan. I still remember my girlfriend (Now wife) trying to get me to watch that opening sequence, but the scars were still fresh. Enjoyed BoB, but never finished the series. Mister Roberts is one of the best movies out there.

I actually picked this up at a Value Village on DVD. Shame it hasn't been giving the blu treatment. Lawrence of Arabia is also a nice one. I use to enjoy Bridge over the River Kwai until I watched a documentary with the original prisoners of that camp. Path of Glory is just a brilliant film. As is Sergeant York. Definitely a lot of great movies. We actually watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks yesterday, but not because of Veterans Day lol.
