I still haven't watched my copy of The Killing Joke, but I did watch the R-rated Justice League Dark, and found it very tame for the rating. To be honest, the MPAA let other DCAU films get away with so much blood and violence for supposedly PG-13 ratings that I didn't really notice anything more "graphic" in Justice League Dark.
As for Gotham by Gaslight, it's not really a good indication that the only reason for the R rating is "some violence", as opposed to "bloody violence" or "bloody violence and gore". I'm sure it could be a good show, and it has to be better than the train wreck that is Batman and Harley Quinn, but I'm not sure you should expect a lot from the rating here. |
