Smallfoot (Warner Animation Group, 2018) - Blu-ray Forum

The non-LEGO related follow-up for WAG's Storks is Smallfoot, as first announced in 2013 and originaly planned as a 2016 release. Based on an Original idea by Sergio Pablos, who created Despicable Me and is working on Klaus right now, through his very own animation studio, SPA. It's directed by Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge) and Jason Reisig, supervisor at lots of Dreamworks Animation titles.

Smallfoot turns the legend of Bigfoot upside down and brings the story of a sasquatch who believes humans are real.

Release date : September 28, 2018.

I am a bit confused, though. The first articles (a while ago) were talking about Bigfoot. But this is a Yeti, right? Not the same legend.

My favorite Yeti will always be the one with the yellow ice cream, though.

How does this nobody get his own "as" poster?
I don't care if he is some social media pseudo-celebrity wannabe. Social media fame does translate to film marketability.

The animation (judging off the poster) looks very Tartakovsky-ish. I'm surprised this isn't a Sony film.

well, the film was animated by Sony Pictures Imagework

for the most part I enjoyed it, the stand out for me being 'Percy's Pressure' song which is a reworking of Queen's Under Pressure.

I really liked it. Very good story, solid visuals, and some nice songs, especially the Under Pressure one

I really liked it too. Loved the design of the town towards the end of the movie.

It is getting good reviews too, which I never expected considering the negativity when the trailer came out. And it's doing well at the box office worldwide, which kinda surprised me too, since there never was any buzz around this. Good.

Cause I do want to see this.

Interesting, I didn't know SPI did work for other studios besides VFX.

This is happening more and more these days. Some big studio releases are in fact animated by European or Asian studio's. But it's only the animating itself. Not the concept design or anything. So, the fact that Smallfoot (kinda, not that much imo) looks like Sony Animation movie, is just coincidence.
