But I figure there was likely some time for an investigation before the 90 days would start. I'm mostly wondering because I'm thinking we might have to wait for the new keys to see certain releases.

Thanks,

New keys should be out in September.

My current theory is that Fox is waiting to release titles with BD+ and new AACS keys. I really hope we don't have to wait until September to see titles from them.

Fox Blu-ray in Mexico!!

Yesterday I went to a meeting with some execs of Fox here in Mexico to see some of their releases for 4th quarter on DVD, but the real kicker was that they gave us a sneak peek of the X2 Blu-ray!!!!
It was awesome, we only see a couple of scenes, like the White House fight, the museum tour, and the Tornado / blackbird chase, the clarity and detail on those scenes was some of the best I ever seen on HD media, specialy on the museum part the 3D pop was all over the place !
Then, when I tought that the best part was over, they show us some of the new BD live and Java content on the disc!!
Boy, real PiP commentaries and scene deconstruction on the movie, some interesting games, when you click on a mutant on the movie, it show a little window with the profile an a 3d render of that mutant, there's a Cerebro special feature, where you can track mutants, when the tracking is reading you watch them as little red dots, and you can click on them and see their profiles, then we see some web enable features, mostly links to some forums and llive feeds from special events and the like, unfortunately when I ask for some release dates I only get the "very very soon" comment, but man, if is this the reason why Fox is waiting to announce some new releases, trust me, the wait is gonna be very very well worth for!!

That would be a godsend!!! Anything you can do would be much appreciated.

I too have lost faith that we'll be seeing anything from Fox soon. I know I've posted this before, but I did a title count of my DVD movies I would want to buy again in HD. Fox had just over 25% of my "must haves", so their absence of releases on Blu-Ray is especially troubling to me. They (Fox) are a MAJOR reason I went Blu late last year.

I'd like to see them "bring it on" & soon...

Unlike another studio that is admittedly under “pressure” to stay the red course, Fox spokespersons don’t feel compelled to publicly comment upon every bump in the road because we are all still at the earliest hours of the high def optical disc road trip.
That is awesome! We got an insider! WOOHOO!
It's great to know.
I hope you can give us an update sometime soon. Good Luck!

I have been given it on very good authority, and Fox has stated publically many times that they are very much still in the game

It's obvious at this point it's all a BD+ and AACS improvements issue.

Exactly, Fox is not on the defensive here, they don't have to worry about losing all that money.

My problem with it is, where we(blu ray consumers) are at in the road trip compared to Fox. We are at mile 10 of 100, they are still broken down at the starting line.

Perhaps this is what the Fox Executive that Scott Hettrick got to post on HTF meant when he said when Fox starts releasing again it will be in a big way.

September through to December is my guess and it will be in a big way.

Do any insiders here have any contact with Warner and how long before they start catching up with those missing blu rays. Batman Begins I understand but titles like Casablanca don't even have PiP

The only word I have gotten recently from Warner is the following

~ Batman Begins definitely out in 2007 with or without IME
~ Troy Director's Cut may get pushed back a week or so
~ Terminator 3 should be out this year possibly in September/October

They are trying hard to make sure that The Matrix will be out before Christmas but unlike Batman Begins they will NOT release it without the IME, or at least that is their current position.

So, can we accurately gauge that you are pretty pissed-off right now?

No matter, today is probably the defining day of the Tour de France in terms of establishment of a GC winner so nothing can ruin it for moi.
This was posted at 10:21am today, so he must have meant the 25th.

I love it. People will buy a product based on price, not on selection. That is the HD DVD creed in a nutshell. One hardware manufacturer and one major studio. Who needs selection.
