Wow, that's a bit shocking to learn that it's the 83; are you sure? Because it seems to me that this would be an AUDIO DECODING issue on the AVR side with these Atmos/TrueHD signals (being that the receiver is so outdated in this way)...are you positive it's the player?

Either way, I was planning on upgrading to the 203 (Oppo's UHD player; or is it the 205?)) once I purchased a new 4K display, but I don't know when that will be.

I went into it thinking the same, but Oppo confirmed it was on their end with some older legacy players. I was getting ready to jump into the Atmos / DTS X pool anyway, so I needed to say goodbye to the 83 anyway.
