Besides, I think the strength of the mutant concept works better separated from an entire world where so many other types of super-powered beings exist.
The showrunner of the MCU, Kevin Feige, would love for the X-Men and other properties to return to Marvel. It would be a blast to see the Hulk and Spidey in the same film as Wolverine, Cyclops, and Professor X. Heck, the Fantastic Four too. I'd bet that under Marvel Studios, the X-Men would finally be depicted wearing their traditional costumes.

I’ve been against that. That look only looks good in comic and cartoon form.

I'm a huge Wolverine fan, but I never wanted that -- not the yellow.

I would have been open to him wearing the black and grey X-Force uniform, though.

You and the others who are against representing these characters on the big screen in a manner that's as consistent as is possible with their depictions in the comic books are ridiculous. As Kevin Feige once said...

Only if its in a X-Force film.

Was the suit Mariko gave him in The Wolverine, the original yellow, or was it the Brown.....w/ the yellow/golden-beige helmut-mask.

What makes anyone think Marvel will give Wolverine his classic yellow spandex? Even The Avengers are starting to look like Fox's X-Men...

I doubt we'll ever see Wolverine in an X-Force movie, but Deadpool in the grey and black costume seems like a possibility.

It was the one known as the brown and tan costume, not the yellow and blue. I would have liked to have seen it worn onscreen, but there's probably a good reason why it wasn't.

Marvel Studios now owns rights to over 7,000 characters

Quote:
As part of Vanity Fair‘s big MCU cover shoot, the magazine spoke with the minds behind Marvel Studios. Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Marvel owns the film rights to 7,000 characters, meaning there’s no shortage of avenues the studio can explore. As for what shape those movies will take, Iger offered a hint of how things will operate in Phase 4.

“We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate—geographically or in time—from the worlds that we’ve already visited.”

Thanks to the Vanity Fair story, we know Marvel has 20 Phase 4 movies planned. And mirroring Iger’s comments, it seems that new worlds and time periods will be a big part of the next set of movies. Captain Marvel will see the MCU return to a period film and Thor: Ragnarok proved how powerful the appeal of the cosmic MCU can be even outside of the Guardians franchise. And with 7,000 characters to choose from, Marvel Studios has near-infinite possibilities.

Disney And Fox Have Reportedly Reentered Negotiations; An Official Announcement Could Be Imminent

Quote:
Disney is progressing speedily toward that rumored acquisition of Fox, with the Murdoch clan keeping possession of sports and news properties, and the rest of TV and the film studio going to Disney.

Aside from SONY and Universal, what other studios still retain the rights to Marvel characters in film?

That's it, as far as I know.

I'm worried about this Disney owning Fox deal. I see a lot of benefits, but I also see a lot of detriments.

I'm sorry, was I supposed to express my concern over the problems of the world here?

But now that you mention it, I'm sure there are plenty of fans that would totally be happy paying for a ticket to see a PG-rated Alien movie produced by Disney while people in Africa are starving.

You're right before we know it we are going to live in a world run by corporations -- I guess we should all worry about that and try to stop it.
