So are you saying it didn't live up to that need, but it's still an okay film?

I'm confused, a little.

What I'm saying is, the film will age badly. It has no legs, past one viewing. After that, watch Fight the Future again.

You'll feel better.

Sorry I misread you.
I love Fight The Future. I was hoping IWTB would follow along with the mythology. FTF was a mythology movie and that is why it had success at the box office.

The only thing I can think of is that IWTB was to get people who did or did not watch the show reintroduced to the characters. Chris Carter said after the show ended that he wanted to continue with movies. It has been 6 years since the series finale and some fans and the general population have forgotten about the X Files. If more movies are made, I think they will delve more into the mythology of the show.

I hope, if any more are made, they are clearer and more precise. Don't you?

Yes.

IWTB will be considered similar to The Phantom Menace. Not in box office numbers of cult following, but as a setup to bigger and better movies.

"Bigger and better movies." Attack of the Clones???

Attack of the Clones? I.... don't know about that one.

Revenge of the Sith, yes. Clones, no.

Outside of The Dark Knight and other comic book movies, one of the best movies(not the best) of 2008 that has been forgotten is Rambo. The gore was a little over the top, but the story was very good and even the acting was good.

Read Above:

My five were:

The Dark Knight
Iron Man
Lakeview Terrace
Rambo
Wanted

Rambo is magnificent. Its brilliance relies on its own craft, not past Rambo films.

See I wish, X-Files 2 would have followed Stallone's playbook. That was my beef.
