Hancock, I really thought it was going to be a great movie but... yeah

the dark night is another one... although I never expected anything good out of it.

Yeah i know, even the animated films were better then HBII, del toro droped the ball on this one, lets hope he stays true Mike Mignola's vision for HB3.

The Dark Knight...OK, I know I am in the minority.

It may also have something to do with the fact that the people I saw it with in the theater thought the movie generally sucked and took it upon themselves to rip into me for persuading them to go see it.

Also Indy IV was a big letdown after having waited 19 years.

The X-Files I Want to Believe. It was just horrible. I was really hoping for something more than what is was. And my expectations of it weren't even all that high to begin with. But, it was just SO terrible that even with my fairly moderate expectations of it, I was extremely let down. It was a bad X-Files movie (even as a 'side' story like many of the 'filler' TV episodes were, it was just horrible), and even as a movie in general, it was horrible.

I admit, I was hoping/expecting to see something dealing with the alien conspiracy. However, I could have accepted a 'side' story just as well if it had been a GOOD side story.

I saw some other movies this year that weren't great, but the X-Files takes the cake of the worst movie I've seen this year... and it might even be the worst movie that I've seen in several years (and I saw Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector... so, that's saying a lot).

While not nearly as bad as the X-Files, I was particularly disappointed with Burn After Reading. I like the Coen Brothers movies, particularly their comedies (with The Big Lebowski and O Brother Where Art Thou being a couple of favorites for me), and I was really looking forward to this movie. My wife was as well (she also really likes those other movies). But it did nothing for us. We walked out very disappointed. Some of the individual performances were good... Brad Pitt was particularly entertaining. But, the overall story, plot, and chemistry between the characters was bad, lacking, and non-existent. (plus, *SPOILER WARNING* Brad Pitt's character getting 'eliminated' about midway through the movie didn't help. The one slightly redeeming aspect of this movie was knocked out half-way through, which just meant it was all down hill from there).

Yeah, movies like Hancock weren't the best. However, I can accept it for what it is, which is a typical summer blockbuster popcorn movie. It wasn't great, but it was watchable. I actually just got the movie for Christmas, and I will watch it again. It's far from being a favorite, but I can watch it again. Plus, I am a fan of Jason Bateman, and I liked his part in the film.

I actually have a love/hate relationship with Indiana Jones 4. I understand why many were disappointed with it. And in many ways an alien plot line bugs me, too. But, in many ways, I also liked it, and I can watch it again and still enjoy it. It's weird. Something about it feels totally out of place for Indy, and yet in many ways it feels just like Indy should. It's a very conflicted emotion. Plus, given Speilberg and Lucas's (particularly Lucas's) track record in recent years, I wasn't expecting a miracle anyway (and actually, after watching some of the extra features on the Blu-Ray, and hearing about some of the really crazy plans Lucas originally had for the movie... including, if I recall correclty, a lot of UFOs being in the film, Indy being abducted, and one of the potential titles being 'Indiana Jones and the Saucer Men', I am actually very relieved that we got the end product that we did.

A film being partially helmed by the guy who thought Jar-Jar Binks was a good idea is a film that I know to go into with a grain of salt.

But, I actually had high expectations for Burn After Reading, given the Coen Brothers' track record. I didn't think any 'grain of salt' was needed. But it just really, really, really disappointed me.

And The X-Files, which I didn't even have very high expectations for, was just so unbelievably terrible that it boggles the mind how it could have turned out this badly. I was just a bad movie overall, and I think even some of the worst X-Files fan fics would probably make for a better movie than this did.

The ONLY redeeming aspect of this movie's existence (which is a stretch as far as redeeming aspects go) is the fact that the first movie, which I liked, got a Blu-Ray release at the same time as the new one. I got the first one for Christmas, and I am very happy about it. I was particularly pleased to find that it contains both the theatrical and extended editions. Up until now, I've only had my original DVD from when it was first released, which isn't even anamorphic, and is only the extended version (not that I have a problem with the extended version... I just like the fact that I have the option of the theatrical version, too).

I agree with you.

For me it was a tie:

Indy 4 - ugh! Space aliens in an Indy movie come on! Some one please hit george lucas over the head with a crystal skull and let spielberg do another indy (i don't think they should).

The Dark Knight: UGH!!!!!! I hated this movie sooooooooooooooooo much! And i'm not kidding! It was just Horable. I really thought that Christian Bale makes a terable batman. And Heath Ledger plays a terable Joker they both sucked. I fell asleep after about 20min and was very upset i wasted $10.50 on that pile of crap! Ugh! Ok, I'm done, let the mob through.

ACIDBURN:

listen, you are entitled to an opinion, and i personally thought Batman Begins was better than The Dark Knight (more of a prop to BB than a knock on DK), but i think you lost all respect with this post: 1) Heath Ledger played an amazing Joker. 2) it's terrible not terable and horrible not horable...your opinion becomes very tiny when you spell such an easy word wrong 3) you hate the Dark Knight but own the following movies apparently: 10000 BC, Benchwarmers, Catch and Release, Eragon, I Know Who killed me, the list goes on actually

I'm not a Dark Knight cult follower....but anti-movieidiot

Quantum of solace was disappointing. It was a decent action flick, it just doesn't feel like James Bond...

The Hellboy Movies are nothing like the comics... Liz Sherman barely knows hellboy they are FAR from lovers. Abe Sapien dosen't have psychic or whatever powers, Kroenen (the bad guy with blades) dosen't have blade, he ain't no ninja, he's a scientist.. and you see him for like 1 page in all the comics since 1993...

I don't think we're gonna see Mignola's vision anytime soon, it's more Del tore's vision. It's only named Hellboy to get the fanbase's money.

Biggest Letdown for me.... Babylon A.D. could have been a great kind of indy Sci-FI movie with Diesel... Wasen't that great of a movie....

The Happening also.. M. Night used to be my favorite... see the word "used".....
