Idk I think it would be much cooler if Thanos were to cause so much destruction in Avengers 4, that he opens up some kind of portal between universes and have the X-Men meet with the Avengers.

The only way I can see them doing that is by having the X-Men, Fantastic 4...etc live in alternate universes than the current one with the Avengers. Then you can make a film where something happens and those alternate universes combine or they are able to travel to other universes and meet each other. And that leaves the door open for tons of new characters to interact with each other. Either way I don't see it happening that fast as Avengers 4 has already been filming. Stuff like this would take time and a few films to explain.
Yea it makes more sense to do a multiverse reboot and start over if they get the FF and X-men back .

So what's the point of Marvel getting back X-Men again if they are going to be part of a separate universe anyway? Might as well stay with Fox.

Wasn't there an article a few days ago that 'AntMan and the Wasp' was going to play around a lot with the Quantum Realm and possibly introduce the MCU to more multi-verses? That would definitely open things up more

But you just said it makes more sense to reboot it within a multiverse, though.

I'd rather not have the MCU characters interact with Fox's X-Men characters... unless the X-Men characters were all brand new and haven't been seen before. I've never cared about the X-Men and I just think it would be cheesy seeing Professor X or Wolverine together with Captain America or Thor. They work better in separate universes.

Like I said you can have some sort of portal or something open up where the alternate universes colide with each other. I'm not saying to Keep the x men away from the current universe forever just the origin of where they come from. Its more believable that way than having a few mutants come out of the shadows and say they were just hiding. There's too many mutants in the xmen universe and shrinking it down to just a few mutants would be a mistake. IMO.

Yep in a multiverse there are unlimited universes , so they just have to pick one where they are all in the same universe . The X-Men the FF and the MCU and start making movies . It is a reboot in a multiverse .

No offense, but that idea is way too convoluted. If they combined universes, then The Avengers and X-Men would be more like extra-dimensionals. It would diminish the whole mutant vs. mutate thing that they have going. Not to mention, what are people going to think about superpowered beings in this new combined universe? Are they going to just hate mutants? Why would The Avengers get a free pass? Will they dislike all superpowered beings? What direction would you go with? It just sounds very messy. At least the MCU already established that not too many people are fans of The Avengers, after the damage that Scarlet Witch (a mutant) caused in Captain America: Civil War. So just expand that when X-Men join the MCU.

Also, no. When X-Men comics first began, there were very little mutants around. So if anything, the MCU would be following the comics. The mutant population only increased when X-Men started to get way more popular. This is why Marvel always plays around with the idea of mutant extinction in a lot in their stories, because Marvel tries to reduce the amount of mutants in the Marvel universe so that it won't get overpopulated.

By the way, how do you know that some of the characters in the MCU aren't already mutants? Madame Web, Molly, Namor, Scarlet Witch, Skaar, Thanos, Quicksilver, etc, are all mutants in the comics. Yet Marvel is allowed to used these characters in the MCU. This is what I meant when I said mutants can be hidden easily. Because people in the MCU probably don't know what the X-gene is. So to them, all superpower beings are all the same. Once everyone finds out about the X-gene, that's when the fear and hatred begins. Because the X-gene is seen as a disease that spreading everywhere.

I don't understand the obssesion about having 10000 characters in the same movies. MCU is amazing as it is, X-Men universe has some great ones too -X2, DOFP and Logan-.

I don't need a 2 hours movie with 30 seconds of every character, that's the reason why everyone always complain about X-men movies. Not enough Storm, not enough Cyclops, not enough Rogue, not enough *insert any of the 1000 mutants included in the comics*... you know.

I thought the teams screen time was divided up pretty nicely in Civil War. There wasn't too much or too little of anyone as far as I can remember.

I'm mostly excited to finally see the Guardians interact with the main Avengers cast.

With X-Men, it's cause it has always been 90% Wolverine, then everyone else. Hence why it always feels like every one else is getting the shaft...cause they are.

MCU works because every character either gets their own films, or a big role in side films, so team up films can be more manageable.

Ant-Man and Spider-Man were basically cameos for the airport scene.

Yeah true but I felt that worked for both of them. Spiderman was thrown in to give you a taste of his actor and introduce him to the MCU. Ant-Man could have used a bit more screen time but I was fine without it, just me though.

Ant-Man had a very small part in the movie, but his role got bigger later on.
