unrelated to the questions but you mean SHARP lc-52d64u right? that model number is a sharp model number? sorry just trying to clarify. anyways yea most of the tvs in the stores have their settings turned way up so they POP out and say "Buy Me!" as well as being calibrated. have your tv calibrated and it should help out a lot.

by the way, it sounds like you were looking at some of the tvs with 120hz processor because of the motion clarity and gliding you mentioned. i dont believe the tv that you purchased has a 120hz processor(correct me if im wrong) so your picture will not have that "gliding" smooth motion feel that you see on the higher end samsungs and sonys. hope this helps.
