Anyway, after somewhat underwhelming Globe performances, I feel like Lady Bird and Get Out are the big winners here, as well as Denzel Washington (wasn't really considering him as a contender, but with Globes and SAG think you have to). The losers are Call Me By Your Name (no ensemble and particularly no supporting actor nomination when it had two shots), and Tiffany Haddish and Patrick Stewart (if anything they seemed like better chances at SAG than the academy, and combined with no Globe nom feels like any critic's choice nomination momentum is gone). |
