I liked it very much. Ang Lee is operating on just an entirely different level from most other filmmakers, who often go for the lowest common denominator... his films are intellectually challenging and also technically proficient. I can see why it wasn't popular, but I think I got what he was trying to say. There is a kind of ironic correlation between fighting for a war you may not agree with and doing your duty as a soldier, juxtaposed against the utter artificiality of sports games spectacles and useless money-wasting halftime shows. The halftime show was somehow more sickening than anything else in the movie, but we are conditioned to "like" that kind of thing and rail against the realities of war. It was a very complicated message but a very engaging and artistically rewarding movie.

I've got this movie on my Amazon list, but I've noticed that it's still holding at $24.99. Any idea how long it might remain at this price? I just don't want to get it now and then have it go down on price 2-4 weeks later.

If you have a Target near you they currently have a "Cartwheel" promotion for 25% off any version.

I guess I need to get the cartwheel app. I've missed out on one movie deal and didn't know about the discount available for "half time walk."

Just watched it. Much much better than I was led to believe. Why did critics pan it so hard?

Just picked this one up today at Best Buy along with Passengers on a 2 movies for $15 in store promo and used a $5 BB Rewards. Price is right for both I believe.

Has anyone tried watching this with motion smoother option turned on in an attempt to replicate the high frame rate. Just got this and was thinking about experimenting with it. I k ow it isn’t the same, but still.

I haven't tired this but it would probably be similar, except you'll get some artifacting. Personally, I hate smoothing and I got the same "soap opera" feeling while watching this in 60fps. I can't stand it, but I think it would be a fine way to replicate the look of the UHD.
