As incredible as it seem The Dark Knight is STILL #1 in Amazon sales rankings. All of the naysayers wanna be industry experts over @ AVS typed their little fingers away for no avail. This BD (my guess) will have sold 2 million units by 12/31/2008. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/dvd/ref=sv_d_3

Are you just finding out about the aspect ratio change, cause we've been talkin bout it since like September? Ah well your loss is someone's visual orgasm that is The Dark Knight on Blu-ray.

I honestly don't find it distracting at all, and I thought I might have when I initially heard of the varying aspect ratios. You barely notice it... even when I did notice it, it didn't bother me 'cause I was drooling over the clarity of the IMAX sequences.

Why?

If you can explain why the shifting aspect ratios are disappointing, this thread may have a reason to exist.

And don't just say "it's distracting". Say "it's distracting because..." and then follow it up with a valid line of reasoning.

ok for me the reason is i have a mild case of odc, everything has to be in its right place. it took me 3 tv's befor i found one with streight enough black lines in widescreen as to not bother me. so when the screen swaps to me it very off putting. i take all kinds of abuse and name calling i just wanted to express my views but some see fit to call me a losser just because i have an opinion

True. Honestly I don't see the reason for the name calling either.

Jeez...don't ever change channels from SD to HD. You might lose your mind!

I also don't understand the "straight enough black lines" bit...those black lines can only be straight, as they're drawn horizontally across the screen's scan lines...

But you're right, the name-calling is overboard.
