Default Guitar Hero Drums?

Hey, Do any of you know if they are planning on selling only the drums at some point? I see they do this with the rock band drums, but not for GH..

From personal experience, I can tell you the GH drums are complete sh*t. They are for some reason incapable of properly registering when you have to hit a cymbal and a main drum simultaneously. The only way to get it to work is to hit the main drum a split second before the cymbal. Extremely frustrating since anything above Easy requires this.

I know this doesn't really have to do with question, except for the basic advice to stick with Rock Band if you want to play drums. Has anyone else had better experiences with the GH drums than I have?

lol to answer your question, i'm sure they will release the drums for individual sale at a later date. that's what they did with the "official" guitar hero 3 guitar. they waited a few months and then they released it seperate. i'm sure the drums will be released soon.

Let me ask you a question. how does the add on cymbol's work for the drum kit? I mean, if the rock band drums already have 4 pads and a pedal for 5 total buttons, how do the 2 cymbols come into play?

can't confirm, as i have rockband 2 but don't have the cybals for it. but i think they just replace a couple of the other buttons. cause i know the green is the "cybal" on the drum set now. maybe someone else that has the cymbals can confirm??

There are actually three cymbal inputs. Yellow, Blue, and Green. In game play there is no difference in hitting the green pad vs the green cymbal. Same for yellow and blue. You just have to learn which to use by listening to the song. For instance rarely will you ever hit the green pad. Most of the time the green in the chart is the crash cymbal. Same for the other colors. The difference as far as the game is concerned comes in during the fill sections. Each cymbal has a different sound than its pad counterpart. You can check youtube to see videos people have posted on when to use the cymbals vs the pads. Hope that helps.

This is as I understand it from what I've read online. I haven't tried it personally as my triple cymbal expansion is still in the mail.

There are three expansion cymbal packs. A Single, Double and Triple. Good luck finding the triple. I finally caught in stock on Madcatz's website.

Hope that helps.

Only if 3 people could be completely uncoordinated enough to have the exact same issue. Doesn't anyone else out there have an issue where the GH drums won't register simultaneous drum and cymbal hits? If not, would it be safe to assume the drums are faulty?
