I compared this scene with the IMAX Blu-ray. Blu-ray is 1.90:1 sourced.

Good thing they always include the bluray with the UHD or some of you would go through some serious 'bluray vs UHD' comparisons withdrawal

Here is a pretty good review that gives this move high marks.

That’s what I was expecting. Different and more positive than HDD review. Incidentally after I read Micheals review on HDD I suspected that he reviewed the UHD on last years Vizio M series which did not support WCG. He confirmed this was true which is why he pointed out that the difference between the BD & UHD was marginal and some may prefer the BD.

Just got a shipping notice from Amazon UK (together with The Prestige and Interstellar).
It’s a good thing I have a week off, so many great UHDs to watch!

What the hell does a 'professional review' really entails? The only professional review I trust is one: mine

I'd be a bit wary of the Whysoblu reviews. They've given some pretty iffy scores in the past: Suicide Squad 5/5, Cabin in the woods 4.5/5 and Watchmen 4/5.

I expect Dunkirk to look good, but I wouldn't take much from their reviews.

This is easily at least a 4.5/5. Any site giving this a perfect review is on the right track.

It wouldn't get many hits as I would not be using a Vizio or TCL panel [emoji849]

It should be a requirement to use a uhd premium certified TV for uhd reviews, just to be safe. (high end Sony tvs being an exception since they don't use the certification).

While I like Nolan's work as a rule, my first reaction to Dunkirk was that it was a beautiful, brutal, and at times, epic view of an important historical event, but devoid of any emotional involvement. While I was physically immersed in the film, I felt absolutely no human contact whatsoever with those who were threatened with impending doom. Whether or not that was Nolan's intent, and it seems that is what it was, my perspective is that the film ultimately suffered for it. It was like watching a cold exercise in technical wizardry devoid of any true human contact. Still, I will get Dunkirk as I believe the film deserves another look to see if my initial feeling toward this film was off point in any way.

Also on the Nolan front, I am definitely in for Inception 4K; one of my favorite films of all time. Still thinking about whether to upgrade The Batman Trilogy to 4K.
