And no Universal Spielberg titles are announced or released (but when someone on the HD-DUD side did slip and announce some Spielberg titles, notice they had to very quickly and publicly pull the announcement?).

This speaks volumes.
Agreed, Jack. Ken Graffeo was asked at EMA when we could expect Spielberg titles from Universal on HD DVD. He responded that Spielberg wouldn't allow it until HD DVD reached a mass market level on hardware sales. Mass market was loosely defined as somewhere between 4 and 16 million players on the market. This smells a lot like Spielberg throwing his support towards BD and ignoring HD DVD. Spielberg, if anyone, knows a winner when he sees it.

You'd better bet that Sony needed his permission to release this! The fact that all three cuts are included along with a new Spielberg interview tells me that Sony and BD have his full support for this release!

I'm sure that the PS3's use as a BD player has no impact on this decision at all...
