Another film I like getting the Digibook treatment. What a shame. I'll wait for a proper release or import.

Sweet. I love the coffee book releases. And a great movie too!

Same here. Why can't the studios put out a regular case edition next to their Digibooks?

Just out of curiousity, what's wrong with digibooks? I'm not attacking or anything, but a lot of people on here seem upset with digibooks and I'm curious as to why. Are they not as encoded as well or something? I have the Matrix and it looks and sounds great. Is there something I don't know?

For some people who want consistency, Digibooks are not the same size as standard Blu-ray Disc keepcases so a majority of these "collectors" freak out because the movie sticks out on their shelf.

There is also the unfounded fear that a Digibook is not as safe as a keepcase. There are poeple on this board and other sites who would pay premium import prices just to have a "standard" looking collection.

Really, that seems like a strange reason not to buy a movie you enjoy. My DVD collection has like 50 different types of movies cases though, so maybe I'm use to my collection not being uniform. I actually like special edition cases.

True, it was never a problem for me with DVDs, though in that case the heights are a bit more consistent between the different case types. So I don't have an issue with the digibooks or special releases, as long as they're in the same order of magnitude in size and price. However, I still avoid buying individual films packed in Joe Don Baker-sized boxes with memorabilia I don't want or need or care to spend extra for (e.g., Casablanca).

OCD much?

I actually like the look of the Digibooks and hope they put out more of them for movies I actually like.

That being said, Falling Down is a really odd choice. I remember it being a semi-hit when released and capturing a certain zeitgeist of the time, but it seems to have faded into obscurity over the years---unless I'm just completely out of touch?

Awesome! Love the movie and love digibooks! Don't know why so many people dislike them. They are well constructed and offer more than a regular release in a regular case with nothing inside.

I was listing the two reasons given by people who hate unique packaging. I, for one, love them and want more. I have the Iron Man mask case from Target, a couple of Digibooks, and should have the T2 Endoskull shortly.

UH-OH Digibook!!

It looks like my lonely little Shawshank digibook will have a friend to keep him company...in one of my trash drawers. Looks like it's time to print out a new custom cover.

DOWN with digibook!!
