Watched Argentos Dracula.
Have many different film versions of this, beginning with the silent Nosferatu and each had it's unique variation. Same with this production. In fact, had quite a few different twists. Would say this version does not deserve the harsh criticism it got. If one enjoys horror or specifically vampire flicks, one should enjoy this one. Problem might simply be being tired of seeing another Dracula retelling in general. The acting was solid and the 3D very good with well done visual settings. It was not silly though would say the music at the beginning sounded a little silly, but I was looking to find flaws. So if you don't mind another filmed version of the Prince of Darkness, this one is recommended because the 3D makes it different from all others. |

I love vampire flicks. The problem with this one is Rutger Hauer's awful performance and a giant praying mantis or locust or whatever that was. 3d is pretty good.

Did you get a region free player because that one is region B locked (could be I am mistaken you for someone else though
![]() Anyway I also own it and despite lacking the much needed blood and gore (due to the PG-13 rating), I found this a very enjoyable little flick. The fake looking CGI add to the movie's B atmosphere IMO, kind of like with the first Anaconda movie from way back. |

Thought the mantis wasn't necessary but that was about it. Hauer was low key but that was actually fine for my "blood". ![]() I really liked how Dracula was portrayed overall. Wonder if Argento added some new twists just to make it different from the other versions. Don't want to discuss them to spoil it for others. The 3D was really quite natural and the hornets flying all over the place included a good mixture of popouts. Overall not a bad production and certainly one I don't feel wasted money adding to my 3D collection. And there have been a few I saw on demand that I was glad I did for those would have been wasted money. So anyone on the hedge about this one, Joey D says its worth a shot. ![]() |

Watched the British import of THE GREAT WALL. Superb showcase for 3D. Has Dolby Atmos as well. Great epic monster movie.

Got Despicable Me 3 and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in the mail this week.
HNI_0051.JPG Despicable Me 3 is from Amazon U.K., Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is from Bad Panda Shop. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets took only a week to get to me in the mail. As for the 3d quality in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, i thought the 3d is amazing as well, the stuff in space looks really nice in 3D, has really nice volume and the 3d displays incredible depth, i agree with the13thman, the 3d is indeed pure eye candy and the market scene is a standout scene in 3d for me as well, the separation is there, very noticeable, the 3d does get dialed down in some spots but it didn't stop me from enjoying the amazing 3d in this film. As for the 3d quality in Despicable Me 3, there are some pop outs in this movie, however the 3d is a stepdown from the last 2 films that had some impressive 3d, the depth is really nice and the separation is good, however i wished this movie had more pop outs especially in the end credits, it seems that Illumination is starting to take notes from Disney 3d wise. My copy of Despicable Me 3 from Amazon U.K. came without a slipcover. Last edited by Biss Skyler Bluray; 12-21-2017 at 12:49 AM. |

Just watched "Epic" and was pleasantly surprised how much entertaining it was. Thought I read it appealed more toward children, which I found not to be the case. Epic kept our interest throughout and guessing what turns would take place to come to the obvious (to adults at least) ending.
Very good 3D which brought out the vibrant color and dreary backgrounds in the appropriate scenes, again making the experience more enjoyable. Will admit, there are so many 3D films in my collection that I'm glad I own but don't believe would have otherwise purchased if it wasn't for 3D. Epic is one of them. Fun to watch and maybe even dub onto DVD-R but that would have been it. 3D makes them special and has opened up a whole new dimension for me (pardon the bad pun). ![]() Last edited by Joe D.; 12-21-2017 at 03:29 AM. |

I have recently got back into buying movies after purchasing a 65" 2016 LG OLED. I bought it for use with 4K BDs. Just for fun I tried 3D on it recently with Avatar 3D....
It was very, very good. To the point that I enjoyed the film more this time. I can't wait to view some more. Ghost in the Shell 3D tonight! ![]() |
