OK, I wont argue with their decision. They ARE the rule makers, and I will respect that.

Darn it.
I feel as a horror fan people should at least check out all the international forums from time to time just to see what may be coming out in other places. I'm not even from AU but I like Umbrella Entertainments releases, own a few of them & plan to pick up more including Silver Bullet.

Bluray for this film looks pretty good for a film that's 32 years old and was largely ignored in theaters. Pic has a slight grainy film quality. Sharp. Nice colors. Good sound. Excellent special features with commentary by director Dan Attias, plus an in depth interview with actor Everett McGill. Great package IMO and this is a slam dunk from Umbrella.

I'm sure you tech guys will complain that you can't see lights reflecting in the characters eyes or the picture is sub-par but the film was a low budget horror movie, shot on film and edited on film from 1985, made by a producer who was notoriously frugal --- this is the best Silver Bullet has ever looked in a long time!

I thought this wasn't out until the 3rd of January? Can I ask where you got a copy from?

This is the cheapest I have found it, if you are American anyway. My order came to $18.73 so that's much better than Amazon.

Got my copy today and I'm having a problem with it. Playing it on my Sony BDP-S1500 and whenever I press the stop button, it goes to a black screen and the player locks up. I have to unplug the player and plug it back in again to get the disc out. Doesn't happen during the Umbrella menus, only during playback of the movie and special features.

It's worth noting that the only discs I have had problems with in this player are Umbrella discs...HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES won't display the menu properly, and this disc and THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE have exactly the same problem when you hit the stop button while playing the film and special features. With the latter, Umbrella said there's no issues with that disc so I ditched it and bought it from the UK and that disc played perfectly. I suspect there's an issue during the authoring stage that creates an incompatibility issue. HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES also had the same issue in another members Oppo player. I was advised in October 2016 that they'd fix it but I'm still waiting.

That's weird. Sorry you're having problems with the disc. When it's playing fine what are your thoughts on the video quality vs the dvd?

It looks better than the DVD but nothing that'd knock your socks off.

If you pre-order do they charge when you put in the order or do they only charge after the item ships?

Im actually not sure. I have only ever used Paypal with them and they take the payment right away. Im unsure what they do with a credit card.

Deep discount is also carrying this and there is a 15% off code so if you order something along with this you can save a little more.

Tried it on a Laser BD3000 and it works fine. The Sony player has no issues with any other companies discs so as I wrote above, so it has to be an issue with their authoring process as this is the second disc to have the same problem and both are from Umbrella.

House of 1000 Corpses has that problem on any player, it's an authoring error.

I did try that disc on a Samsung player and it worked fine. Tried it on a Sony and two different Laser players and it didn't.

It's bizarre to me how some of their discs work fine on some players and not on others. I don't know of any other companies discs that have that issue.

I pre-ordered and they took the money out right away... The total for mine came to 19.22.

It's like 27 bucks over at amazon and so it probably would have been close to 29 with tax.... 19 bucks is far more acceptable for this title.

Does anybody know if this artwork is reversible so you can avoid the big ratings logo?

Yes it is. However, there's no content details listed on the back...it's poster art only, but different to the one on the front cover.
