Sony should have a TV buy-back program?

Bought my BRAVIA XBR 2 about two years ago only to watch 120HZ make its emergence. Thats just not fair. Is the chipset 120Hz or is it a processor of some sort. Can I upgrade that component alone? I want to watch football in 120Hz...it looks os real... Please SONy buy my TV back so I can upgrade.

I think you are mistaken. I think you are confusing Motionflow with CineMotion. This is from Sony's website:

Tech is always updating, just have to learn and deal with it. Don't buy in the beginning of product cycle or at the end. I like buy in the middle, when the prices are decent. I could buy at the end, but then I would be pissed when the updated model comes out. Hell, I just bought into BluRay, lol. Bought my first player on Black Friday, could not be happier. Just wish the movies did not cost allot. All though, that was not my first Blu experience. My brother had a PS3, so he always bought them. Just nice to be able to watch them in my own place.

In all honesty, it could be a good idea. It would look good to the lazy and/or less tech savvy. But you would get far less then the value if you traded it in versus selling it. Also you would have to pay Sony's retail, instead of getting it discounted somewhere.

I bought my TV for almost 4 grand and it was the newest thing at the time. It has only been like a year and now they are on XBR 8 already. Not sure what the differnces are or if it worth upgrading but hey thats life.

I am in the same boat as you. I have a 40 inch XBR 2 that I paid $2500 for which at the time was a good deal. Now you can get a 52 inch XBR 6 for cheaper than that. I know it sucks, but that is technology. The worst part is that if I sell mine, I would probably get at most $500-600. I keep trying to convince my wife to let me get a better tv but, she is not convinced. It's not that the XBR 2 is bad, it just has it's issues with blacks and clouding, when watching tv at night.

No, Motion Flow makes new frames in between the frames that are there. I have it turned off for my movie watching through my bd-350, ps3, and my HD-DVD player... but do use it for watching tv... sports etc...

Cinemotion smothes frames or something along those lines... When I had my TV calibrated they put it on "auto 1" and thats where it has stayed since.

Dont know about anyone else but I bought my Sony KDL-46V4100 back in July and have been very happy with it and it was money well spent. It dont have the 120hz feature and to be honest I cant tell the difference anyway. So there will be no upgrading anytime in the near future for me, my Sony Bravia is it!

Thank You. Yes this is what I was referring to. There is a very, very noticeable difference over 60HZ and those who think otherwise do not know what they are looking at.

You will absolutely notice a difference. The picture looks like live action is the only way I can explain it. If you dont see it then you need glasses like my friend here

No its called Motionflow With 120hz. Sony does actually make LCDs that are 120hz and do not have Motionflow. They are different.
