I thought the demo was pretty short

The game itself was cool though.

Its just an appetizer ...they don't want you to be too full not to buy the full version.

Called roomate and had him start download while I am at work.. will be home waiting.. cannot wait.

My two grumbles so far are: no definite FPS mentioned.. and no jump button? WTF is that about? I guess it is more Resident Evil 4/God of War type.. as jump is pretty important button on most action side scrolling games like this..

yeah you can throw all the "realism" right out the window without the inclusion of the ability to jump. I mean that killed me with Rainbow6 Vegas, as it had all the cool graphics, weapons, decent online play, but the inability to overcome that great obstacable called a curb in the street due to lack of ability to jump just killed it.

I hope it does not do the same for me on this game.

Woo! Prefer it to God of War, you're not rewarded nearly so much for button mashing and it just seems to flow better from move to move. In the second fighting area you can throw barrels, stools and even dead enemies. Hold X to throw and aftertouch, the area's a bit small for effective aftertouching though.

Main thing I hope they sort for the full game is the tearing and it would be nice if the shadow quality increased. The video quality should be better on the Blu-ray final too. I can't remember if this is the demo area used at TGS last year but they were definitely using it at Sony Gamers Day so they may have made some improvements.

Edit: Blocking and counters take some getting used to after Ninja Gaiden - they're explained under controls. It's satisfying to block and then counter successfully once you get the timing down. Even a two orb superstyle attack can wipe out a lot of enemies so the demo's over in a flash.

I am not into games that rely heavily on buttom combos but this was fun. The graphics were decent for a demo though i did not like all the "fog", but it may have been meant to be that way. The counter moves were fun and made me chuckle. The Demo is very short, they should have at least let you fight the gaurds that break through the gate. I may consider picking this one up.
One gripe i must mention is for being a next gen system/game her hair looked like crap...i thought she had a red octopus for hat or something...

In the IGN blog, Matt Hart talks about "jerking the controller up" to launch into aerial combo's. I won't get the demo till tonight, but could someone check to see if they omited a jump button by tieing the jump action to the motion sensing features of the 6-axis.

the 1st thing I must say..aside from the graphics are the controls...

the controls feel very smooth and natural...

the action and all looks to be on the level of God of War and I already have this game on reserve...

its very good
the frame rate is a little choppy in the beggening and the blocking can be hard to get used to but i liked it over all

I was excited before, but after playing the demo I'm like in an entirely new level of excitedness. I like this way more than God of War. HS made GoW look too easy. I do wish I could've fought those boss guard people at the end of the demo though...

this demo was a c*** tease. When the game ships i'm sure it'll be worth the wait. combo's are great and it's going to take some practice to get used to this game, after playing the demo, I don't wanna play anymore PS2 games...lol.
