Samsung should really have a log of what the firmware updates do.

I was hoping the update would let us be able to move apps in the recommended section. That did not happen.

Players acting funny tonight. Instead of playing the 4K disc regularly, it gives me that "This content will be played in HD..." message. I've plugged and replugged the HDMIs and I still get that.

I watched Spider-man in 4k yesterday and had no issues.

I think if you have it set to "Auto" on your player, you should be fine. It should display HDR when available.

Also make sure your TV and receiver are set correctly/capable for that HDMI input.

Looks like Samsung won't be rolling out the HDR10+ update to this player which is a shame. Hopefully the Xbox gets updated.

High-Def Digest: Just heard back. The K8500 is NOT getting the upgrade. Only the m7500, m8500, and m9500.

Glad I switched from the Samsung to Sony - this would have been the 1 and only thing that could have made me consider the change again as my Samsung TV is supposedly getting HDR10+ update

Which Samsung TVs are getting the update? Don't suppose the KS700 is on the list?

Last year Samsung had a official announcement of adding HDR10+ to 2017 models and to 2016 KS models via a firmware update that should have been available by end of last year by the announcement. No further info of this exists afaik.

After getting back from the Republic Of Ireland after the festive season, i updated my Samsung UE55MU7070 for the first time since buying it in November and the firmware took a massive leap forward in firmware numbers. I'll be damned if i know what it has done, but the picture quality for 4K content is absolutely pin-sharp, upscaling from a regular BD is vastly improved, and any 60fps for gaming content is rock solid. I'm also using the Samsung 8500 and primary 4K playback device...

I've had this player for a while now, but I have had a couple of issues with the last two 4K movies I've watched.

Coco - The audio slowly became out of sync. I had to restart the player to resolve the issue.

The Last Jedi - During the shirtless Kylo seen the picture started stuttering, and eventually just froze.

Has anyone else experienced issues like this? I am on the latest firmware.

Well, mine completely shat the bed last week. Regular blus started pixelating and stalling out, the stereo in the 3D was completely out of whack. I replaced it with a Sony UNP-X800 and I am wayyyy happier. It was a serious upgrade.
