if these things are DV capable, they should get all that taken care of before it comes to market. this way, you wouldn't have social media beating your door down about not yet having DV or passing the promised time frame for getting said update.

Meh, if the product is ready to go with improvements, and all it is waiting on is DV to certify or approve or WTF ever they are doing, let it loose. You don't hold up an entire line because a company in the mix doesn't have their shit together. And yes, I think DV owns more of this than the manufacturer.
