Strangely enough, the ONLY blu-ray I received early from B.B. was the GOTG 2 3D/4K SB and I got it one whole day early. Many of the folks who ALWAYS receive their orders early were concerned/upset because it had not shipped by the Wed before release! It’s not a big deal... I know I’ll get it but I just want to know what it feels like!! Like Christmas as a kid!
Be careful Shaggy. Many forum members have been reporting that they canceled orders with Best Buy and they still end up receiving canceled items and getting charged for them. I would call and talk to one of their customer service reps just to confirm it's been canceled.

I'd add my collection to blu-ray.com but it would take forever to add them 1 by 1. Is there a way to batch add them? I'm up to 747.
You can download the phone app and scan the barcodes. It will still take awhile. There is also a thread for boasting about collections that shouldn't be more than a page away.

Hi Damon,

Of course I did. Was only testing you (yeah, sure lol). Shows retirement is turning my brain to mush.

Just watched the first one, "Sharks".

Great documentary but have mixed feelings about the 3D. It had great depth and detail, especially considering the difficulties filming underwater. But at the same time, also caused eyestrain with too many shots having crosstalk, sometimes so strong as to produce double images.

Overall would still recommend it but with those understandings. It was filmed in 2005 so I'm wondering if the industry was still trying to perfect the current technlogy, hence those particular problems?

I had no crosstalk issues with any of the movies. Not to say I haven’t seen some movies that cause eye strain. Metalstorm comes to mind. Sorry to hear it wasn’t as great an experience for you.

Hi CSM,

Don't get the wrong idea. I still loved "Sharks", glad you gave me your thoughts that made me purchase the trilogy and looking forward to seeing the other two.

As said, the 3D as far as depth and detail was excellent. It captured so much considering it was underwater. But I do agree with portions of what the site's review had to say:

"Ghosting is quite severe at times, especially when small fish dart in front of the camera, and other anomalies appear throughout the presentation, among them artifacting, banding, mosquito noise and more.

"(I could feel eye strain setting in around the twenty-minute mark.)"

But this did not stop me from enjoying "Sharks". Just that I could not give a fair and honest appraisal if I didn't mention these problems. Once I realized there were to be artifacts I certainly was not going to let them spoil a still otherwise very pleasing and extremely relaxing 3D experience.

So no losing sleep over this.

Hi Biss,

Its an underappreciated film including the 3D.

William Shatner as captain Kirk once said to give him an old sailing ship, when one could feel the wind on his back. Unfortunately, Chris Pine, the new captain Kirk, forfills those wishes.

I went to my movie guy. He didn't have Blade runner, but I did pick up Cars 2 3D which completes my cars series in 3D.

I also saw he had an Xmen Apocalypse 3D slipcover on a non 3D case , so I asked if I could have it since my copy didn't come with one. So now it does!

I just now ordered Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows from amazon, wasn't a big fan of it when i saw it in cinema, i enjoyed the first. But was annoyed with this one. Buuuuuuuut since its $9.99 from amazon right now I bit the bullet.

I have the first one in 3d sitting on the shelf, always feels weird for me to not have the sequels to films even if they aren't great. lol

just watched Beowulf. actually liked it better than i expected, since i didn't like The Polar Express by the same director. story and voice acting is solid, although it does stray from the source material. the animation is a bit dated, as it was attempting hyper-realism before the technology had matured enough to pull it off, but it still looks pretty good and is definitely a step up from The Polar Express. the 3D is fairly well done, with decent depth and plenty of gimmicky pop-outs. but holy crap i can't believe it's not rated R. it's gruesome and horrific and sexy, which is actually refreshing since adult 3d animation is so rare. give it a go if you're in the mood to be disturbed.

Triple header tonight.

Watched the last two segments of the Cousteau Trilogy, Dolphins and Whales and Ocean Wonderland. As with Sharks, wonderful documentaries with colorful and detailed pictures and plenty of 3D depth. However, like with the first entry, it was accompanied by portions of eyestrain, halos and crosstalk.

Though that might be enough to discourage perfectionists, one can accept those defects and not allow them to detract from an otherwise enjoyable package.

We also watched "Storks" on HBO demand. A charming story with a good use of 3D animation noticable even through cable. Might purchase when the price drops

it been a while since i last saw this movie in theaters, i enjoyed the 3d in theaters, i was gonna grab the 3d version of this movie, but i keep holding it off, i don't know why, i been avoiding the Brazilian and Indian versions of The Finest Hours because it used a inferior audio track, it had a DTS-HD HR 7.1 track in English instead of a English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track, hence why i went after the Japanese release because it a lossless 7.1 audio track in English.

Really enjoyed this. Very funny. Thought Will Arnett's voicework was fantastic.
3D was decent. The Batcave scene was excellent - the depth showing the immensity of the structure. A few small pop outs here and there. For me definitely a movie to be seen in 3D, not flat. It's probably persuaded me to get the Lego Ninjago movie, as I was on the fence for that one.

I know. The prices on Amazon.uk are wonderful. I got about 30 blu ray 3d documentaries the other day for about $75.00 and $20.00 shipping. That's a little over $3.00 apiece. Wildlife is a beautiful 3d blu ray for example, and never saw it for sale before.

Joe, you might want to watch the first one first. They are pretty similar in quality. Silly fun movies with decent conversions and great use of 3D. Turtle power!
