I'm glad you finally got a ps3 and I'm sure you will enjoy it; but your question has been asked numerous times and most recently here:

I choose rock band 2 for various reasons ( explained in that thread) but it all comes down to which music you like more from both of them. Good luck in your search. You can also buy one game full equipped and later on just buy the other game and use the same instruments for both games.

Hey definitely!! I'm most likely going to be picking up a PS3 and RB2/GHWT today after work so if I do decide to get RB2 (and once I figure out the whole PSN stuff) I will PM you!

PLEASE get Rock Band...I switched over to GH when it came out and it SUCKS compared to rock band.

Get the symbal pack for rock band to make the drums even funner than they already are.
