That raises an interesting point. I don't know what I'd prefer: each episode as soon as possible, or a delay to get all in a boxed set... Would there be any serious advantages of waiting? Is there any word on this already from the studio?

Is it confirmed that this is really coming out in 2009? And if so will it just be the theaterical versions? Don't get me wrong those were excellent but I'd like to have the option of watching the Extended Editions as well....
Oh well it's up to WB. I know I won't be buying it if it's just the theaterical versions. |

Every time there's a new post in this thread I get my hopes up thinking some new information about this release has been given to us.
![]() I hope Fellowship comes early this year. My friends and I had a Lord of the Rings marathon and we hope the next time we have one it'll be in hi-def. |

Yes, The Hobbit is projected to be released in late 2010 with pre-production starting this year.
The next film will be in 2012. I'm both ecstatic that Lord of the Rings mythology will continue in films but also scared for what may happen to them. I don't want LotR to become an unimaginative shell for what it could've been. I want all the films to be on the same level of quality as the first three. |

keep dreaming. The most we'll see will be the deleted scenes on the abc family broadcasts. Whili Id like to see more exposition scenes, it's all about those who haven't read the books.

you never know when the 7th movie or 8 because they devide the 7th book into so it would actually be 8 movies. Maybe then they will release them with more features and more deleted scenes. i know for a fact there is much more deleted scenes to the potter movies then they have put on the discs. So they must be saving them for a special special edition in the future.
