I agree! I'd love Scarface on blu. They came out with the Platinum edition with re-mixed sound. I held off. I've got the full screen edition dvd. So an upgrade is preferable. DTS ftw!

I cant believe its taken so long for this to make its way to BD. It's not the greatest gangster flick ever, but it's arguably the most influential, right there with the Godfather.

I have to agree it's a tad overrated. My main issue.

Tony Montana was not a very good gangster for a start. He was a pawn of Alejandro Sosa and the ending confirms this.

Sosa could pretty easily kill Tony any time.

He was a man motivated by greed and it was this that was manipulated by Sosa. He was allowed to operate freely as a puppet front man for Sosa in America and get rich.

But once he betrayed him it only took like 24 hours and he was dead.

He wasn't some bad a$$ demigod gangster that all these rappers would like to make you think.

The guy got caught trying to wash money. Real gangster like.

Apart from that yeah i still consider it a great movie.

The original was a "Classic" although I like this film also.

I absolutely adore this movie. The thing is, I consider Scarface a Fairy-tale, the ultimate story of a guy who had everything then lost it.

Day one buy for me!

Scarface is my favorite movie of all time! Like Overmatik said... Tony Montana was a guy who started with nothing, got everything, and then lost everything. No one stays at the top forever especially not if greed has taken over your life. I just LOVE to see Tony Montana rise from a poor Cuban refugee to become the biggest drug lord in Miami. It's simply beautiful. Better than the original movie and way more suspenseful. Once it gets released on blu-ray I will definitely buy this. I hope the transfer is good which it should be because it's been three years now since a blu-ray release of Scarface was announced. Let's hope for some juicy, never before seen, interviews, commentary tracks and stuff like that. I wonder if the deleted scenes will also in HD.
