How lonfg should a player last?

Yeah, I had DVD players last longer than 8 years (till I gave them away). But they might have been used an average of once or twice per week, while I use my main BD player sometimes four or five evenings a week, and then additional hours while I run on a treadmill, lift weights or ride a stationary bike (when I usually watch the extra features on disks).
