Very good. I'll leave the original post there for the sake of posterity. But yes, I did mean price.

Doesn't appear to be a blu-ray release for Molly's Game either. DVD is up for preorder but no blu-ray.

It's on NOW TV / Sky in HD if you're interested.

Not as big a film, but the French-language film Gauguin with Vincent Cassel is being released on Blu-ray by StudioCanal in France and Germany, but not in the UK, where it was released in December on DVD-only by the UK branch. I really hope the French/German edition has English subtitles, but somehow, I don't think it will...

I struggle to believe that they won’t release it on Blu, it performed well in the UK. Give it some time hopefully.

I’m hoping it’s a case that it’ll appear later, yeah. The U.S. release is up for preorder already.

SC rarely release their new French films on Blu in the UK - it's generally straight to DVD and Amazon streaming with absolutely no publicity. The annoying thing is they could easily include English subs on their French Blus knowing that but, with the exception of the odd title that slips through the cracks like En Equilbre, virtually never do.

That said, we're lucky to even get DVD for more overtly commercial French films, which rarely travel: unless it's a critically acclaimed title that can get arthouse bookings, most French (and indeed European) films are streaming only. Even Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis, which got a small low key theatrical release here, is only available to buy digitally and until Intouchables that was the highest grossing French film ever. There was a time when high concept films like Er is Weider Da/Look Who's Back would have had three or four video labels bidding for it but now unless you import the German release the only way you can see it (and not even own it) is to subscribe to Netflix.

Yes, but do these French StudioCanal films generally show up from StudioCanal Germany, too, and at the same time? I know sometimes they open in France and Germany months apart (and thus get wholly separate discs), but in the case of Gauguin, it seems the French disc is shared with Germany, which means it's a multi-territory disc, like their catalog titles.

It varies, but when they do they usually only opt for French and German language options.

Going forward, we're probably going to see a lot of smaller films being snapped up exclusively for streaming by Amazon, Netflix and Now TV. There might not even be a disc option unless one imports.

Yeah, I'm planning on ordering the German version since there's nothing here.

The Harry Dean Stanton movie Lucky doesn't seem to have a blu anywhere...

It will be released theatrically in Germany and Japan in March 2018, so I would keep an eye out for a Blu-ray there if there is no UK release by then.

Rules Don't Apply is currently the subject of an $18m lawsuit, which - along with the dismal box-office ($3.8m WW, only $60,428 in the UK) - may well be a factor:

http://variety.com/2017/film/news/wa...ly-1202642873/

Ironically, like Beatty's dismal version of Love Affair, after it tanked so badly in the States it was going to be a straight to video release in the UK until Beatty pushed for a theatrical release and promised to go on the UK chatshow circuit to promote it.

It looks like Battle of the Sexes is not getting a Blu Ray release here in the UK. All I can find is the DVD for per - order. Shame as it's a great film and I don't like Tennis.

Did it even get a theatrical release? I'm pretty sure it was straight to Netflix.

Like Skiptrace, it's Netflix only with no physical media or theatrical release. Or publicity either for that matter.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Brigsby Bear is getting a Blu Ray release either.

Battle of the Sexes is getting a Blu Ray release in Australia so at least there will be a Blu Ray Region B version around.
