I was watching JP last night on HD and noticed a big flaw in the T-Rex scene. I have notices this before, even when the film first came out - however really didn't bother me. It kinda does now, but it will never ruin the movie for me
![]() Anyone ever notice that when the Jeeps first pull up to the T-Rex area, it's all lush and there is dirt and ground right there behind the fence? This can be confirmed by the fact that they bring up a goat from under ground as well to tempt the Rex. However, after they make the second go around when the power goes out and they are stuck in front of the T-Rex area again and the Rex is show behind the fence, eating the goat, you can see how big he is. It still looks like he is level with the flat area outside the fence. Then, once he breaks free and does his dirty deed, the guy and girl get pushed against the wall and they then have to go down the power line and swing against the wall. Here you see this HUGE wall that has to be at least 3 or 4 stories tall, maybe more. Where the hell did that come from? I know if the Rex was standing on the ground in this shot, he would not have been seen from up above unless you leaned over and looked down. Anyone else find that whole scene crappy? It won't ruin the film for me - I just found it to be really bad that nobody on the film would have questioned or thought about that. |

its funny I never noticed this till I watched a TV show about movie mess ups. I saw a clip of them interviewing the person on Jurassic park that did the job where you make sure there aren't any inconsistency's and they asked her about it. apparently what had happened is that they realized the problem but that Spielberg said to not worry about it and that most people wouldn't notice or care because the thrill of the movie would have them hooked. I guess studio policy at the time, and looking at the fourth Indy still stands, is to not question him.

Please, explain to me how the T Rex managed to get UP the wall and levitate in mid air? I am dying to know this! The more I notice these inconsistencies in films, the less I like watching movies. If people can not take the time to catch these things - what is the point in keeping the "realism" that most directors are trying to achieve? Ugh. |

Another thing that makes it known as a mistake and not on purpose - the NO sign that is mounted on the concrete along the wall. It's located right below a metal support in front of the goat. It is constant through the entire film. It never changes spots. However, 3 feet to the right of it, is the "cliff". The same area the Rex came out from. The sign is also in front of the goat. There are two signs, however one is too far left. The one to the right - below the metal support for the fence, is the correct one. It matches up in every scene.
The high voltage sign this guy talks about, moves in each scene. It is not constant. It's a foul up. A pretty big one at that. |

I've read on JPLegacy before, as I'm a huge JP fan, but I think they're really asking you to push it to believe it wasn't a mistake. I could've swore I even read somewhere that Speilberg noticed the inconsistency also but did it anyway.
Oh well, they should've stuck to the layout the book had for the T-Rex paddock. |

I hope they clone an actual T-Rex one day and set it loose in the streets of some big city. Wouldn't it be fun to be in that city and try to hide from the T-Rex on the loose ?

Here's the truth...
If you watch the original animatics (you have to own the bonus disc that came with the old Jurassic Park 3-pack) you'll see that the T-Rex grabs Tim and Lex's jeep with its jaws and pulls it farther down the road. It's in the storyboards, too. They just never got around to completing those shots, for whatever reason. |
