Someone in the 4K forums mentioned the US may not be getting a 4K UHD release so this is on my must have list now.

They basically swapped the images from the HDZeta steelbook. I know it's 4K, but it's not enough to make me replace it even with it releasing on my birthday.

Can't imagine Gladiator not being released in 4K in the US. That would be a huge loss of revenue if they did that. Now, I doubt it will get a 4K steelbook release...

I put in a pre order and with the cheapest shipping option it came to €28.17 so pretty close to $35 USD. That's close to what we're already paying for a 4K steelbook from Best Buy.

In the 4K forums they said Dreamworks has the rights to Gladiator in the US and the rest of the world is Universal so they doubt it's going to be released here.....at least for now.

Just curious but what are your thoughts on Zavvi getting this in the near future? It seems like most of these Amazon.it steels end up on there.

I'd love to give Zavvi my money over any of the Amazon sites. I trust Zavvi's packaging to arrive damage free while I have little to no faith in Amazon when it comes to their packaging.

Amazon hasthe best customer service. Even if the steelbooks arrive damaged, they will quickly send a replacement or refund if the item is sold out whereas Zavvi waits for 30 days to replace the item.

This would be a triple dip for me since I have the German release also which I love the cover and spot gloss...just wish it didn't have a printed back.

It is, I just wish it was not one of the German Universal ones that had the J-card movie info. printed on the back. The spot gloss on the shield and sword really make it pop.
