When I took my grandmother and her bible study friends to see The Post, this trailer played and they all perked up and said, "We should go see that, Helen Mirren never disappoints".

I just laughed at these 70+ year old women wanting to go see a horror movie because Helen is in it.

Mirren's got it going on. When you beat out an twentysomething year old starlet for Sexiest Woman Alive, that's says a hell of a lot.

Yeah, I keep seeing this drooling over her for the past number of years and I chuckle. Most of these boys would change their stance if they saw her without makeup or airbrushing. I'm not saying she's ugly (definitely very attractive years past) but so many people seem to forget about the makeup and airbrushing factor with all celebrities it seems.

As far as the movie goes, I think she's a great choice for the role.

For Mirren, she has the charisma and charm included.

BTW, Jamie Lee Curtis did a photoshoot in which she had zero makeup and zero airbrushing and she still looked rather darling.

Lol. Nobody seems to be caring for this and it opens in 2 days.

Yes it looks bad but how bad can it be?

I mean I'll still give it a shot.

I don't think it looks bad. Just pretty generic. I'd go see it if I didn't have so much to see already. Still might anyway at some point.

As someone who has visited the real Winchester House, I care.

I don't think it will be a particularly good movie, but hey, it's still got Helen Mirren

I think it looks okay - like someone else said, a little generic, but I think it will be worth a watch.

It's exactly the kind of movie I would previously have waited for Netflix or check it out from the library, but now with MoviePass I will check it out in theaters this weekend.

I agree, although Mirren is obviously the beneficiary of good genes. And for those who say it's all makeup, remember that almost all women use makeup and most of them still don't look as good as Helen Mirren. Even though she probably gets a bit tired of being a sex symbol, nowadays, it's a simple fact that Mirren looks better than many women who are significantly younger than her. Remember this famous photo from 2008, when she was turning 63:

[Show spoiler]

And here's a photo from the 2018 Golden Globes, for good measure. I think anyone would love to look like this the year they turn 73:

As for Curtis, if you mean this photoshoot, from 2002, when she was 43, I agree that it's one of her most beautiful photos ever. Again, though, she also got some great genes:

[Show spoiler]

Now, as for this movie, I have to agree it looks pretty average, but at the same time, I want to support films with older leads, so I'll probably see it.

Yeah I actually think this is going to skew much older than most horror films with the lead being an elderly woman. Nothing wrong with that though.

The lead for Insidious 4 was an older woman also.

I wonder if these older ladies went and saw The Debt, and if so what they thought.

True but that was an established movie series and they had a lot of focus on the teen girl in the ads. With Winchester it's no doubt who the lead is and there doesn't appear to be any younger characters.
