It looks like most (if not all) of the IMAX theaters in Washington State are going to be 2d only sadly.

The IMAX theater I usually go to in Lacey has one IMAX 3D showing per day scheduled so far.

This short clip makes it look like 3D was very much a consideration during production:

Can’t wait. Tickets booked already.

My local Cinemark that is usually great with 3D only has one screen compared to 10 2D screens for opening day Friday.

My local Regal theater that usually bad with 3D showings is the opposite this time.... with plenty of 3D screens. Even the IMAX is showing 3D this time.

NOTE:
Just looking at the seats for Friday at both theaters , there is still plenty of seats available at the popular times (80%) .

Unfortunately IMAX made the call to go only IMAX 2D with showings of Black Panther.
Really sucks.

Well, I do see one theater on Fandango listed as showing it in IMAX 3D, but that's two and half hours each way just to get there, so obviously not practical. There were three IMAX theaters which I would've seen it in, but none are giving any 3D options.

So, like with Blade Runner 2049, I'm gonna choose 3D over the expanded IMAX ratio (and of course with the way things are, neither is guaranteed to get a home release). I hope they give more IMAX 3D options with Infinity War, which was actually shot with IMAX digital cameras (though that is the type of film I may see twice in theaters, so I suppose both 3D and IMAX could be options).

It's still early, but my theaters show a lot of showtimes for Thursday night for 3D, but the Friday and afterwards, only 1 3D showing late at night. I believe that's just based on the fact that they hopefully haven't scheduled all their showtimes, as often is the case with nothing solid until the Wednesday before the release.

Feb 16, 2018 in the US. Did any other country get this early I wonder? As is usual with Marvel films?
