Well they have dealt with WB before, with Nightbreed and also House on Haunted Hill IIRC (though both obviously present exceptional circumstances). It's not beyond the realms of possibility they might have cultivated a close relationship, and forged some kind of agreement. As people have noted, their response to the question was curiously evasive. It's quite clear that if Scream wish the line to continue in its current form (and at its current pace) they'll have to strike a deal with a new major studio sooner rather than later - we all assumed it would be Paramount, so it would be quite ironic if WB proved easier to crack.

I don't want to get my hopes up but I would really like to know if Shout has a foot in Warner's door. The It's Alive films could have reverted back to the producer but the films were always quintessential Warner properties. I still remember the big Warner VHS clamshells.

You also have to remember, though... this is on the heels of their announced and then cancelled release of Piranha II: The Spawning.
When it was announced, many people thought they had landed a Sony deal, however, they didn't have a Sony deal, and whatever deal outside of that that they thought they had, didn't allow for the film to be released. Their evasiveness on the business side of things could be nothing more than a response to the Sony/Piranha II situation and how it played out. |

We can expect the rest of May's announcements over the course of the week, so we might find out soon enough. That said, even if no further Warner titles are announced yet obviously we shouldn't be too downhearted until we hear otherwise.
Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but all three films are currently available via Amazon Video and Warner Bros is listed as the studio in each case. Not sure what this means exactly but it's intriguing. Last edited by BarnDoor; 01-29-2018 at 08:14 PM. |

Scream Factory sublicensed the theatrical cut of Nightbreed from Warner Bros. at the time; the WB logo is on the backcover of the TC case in the Limited Edition set.

At the time of the release, the theatrical cut was still under license to Warner Brothers, so Shout! had to sublicense that cut from WB for their deluxe edition. The director's cut was licensed from Morgan Creek directly, though. Warner lost all of the Morgan Creek titles a year or two ago. |

Ah yes! I never thought of that! They were selling the theatrical cut as a warner archive DVD come to think of it.

Non-sequitur: I have to say I'm surprised Shout hasn't done a CE of The Warriors. It's a cult classic, they've released other Walter Hill films, and I'm sure there would be a market for the theatrical cut (or both cuts in one place) on Blu-ray. It has Shout Factory written all over it.

While that fan made bluray is good for the extras there are better sources available in the wild for the theatrical cut. |

Anyone care to place any bets as to whether we will see a sale this valentines day? I know nothing has been mentioned thus far, but it's usually a week or so before the sale starts that they announce them so we should find out soon enough.
Despite the sale itself not being all that great in 2015 or 2016 (I can't remember which) I really liked the Love is in the Scare promotion as Scream streamed many of their then current double feature releases online. I had the time to sit down and enjoy most of them so I watched Witchery, Ghosthouse, parts of Metamorphosis, etc. I'd love for them to do the same thing again with some of their other titles as it provides an opportunity to familiarize myself to them so I know if I am missing out on anything. I'm assuming there won't be another marathon this year, but I've debated watching all the films screened during that marathon again myself this year since I had such a good time then. |

I know this has been answered several times over the years so I apologize for asking again, but if I pre-order an item from Scream Factory and then order an in stock item to bring my total over $50 for free shipping, will they ship the order in 2 parts or just wait to send everything together in May? (I'm debating ordering the It's Alive trilogy if you can't tell).
