Default Which Speakers???

Which speakers will give me the best sound? I have A Sony STR-DG800 reciever with an optical cable providing sound to my PS3, Direct TV HDTV Box, HD-DVD Player. I have currently set up Bose 201`s as my front left and front right and a Polk CS1 as my center speaker. I have 2 Polk R300`s available to use but I wanna know which speakers would give me the best sound Bose 201 or the Polk R300? Hope someone can help me I`m a NOOB at all of this.

Use the three Polk speakers in the front and move the Bose speakers to the back.

Use the three Polks as your fronts. Keep your CS1 as your center and take the others as your monitors (Left and Right). Take the Bose to the rear and make them your surrounds.
Your reciever will not process HD Audio. When you upgrade your reciever (Onkyo 606 is a cost effective upgrade) lose the optical cable and go to a HDMI cable from the PS3 to the reciever so that you will get the HD Sound and the benefits of Blu. The optical cable will only give you 2.0 sound (Left and Right).

you sure about that? Isnt the optical cable able to support 5.1 sound, just not the lossless formats?

That's no problem and I'm sure BD didn't take it the wrong way! So not to worry.

The suggestion provided however is indeed the BEST and MOST LOGICAL answer.

At first my bias came in and I was like, "Bose over the Polk? C'mon!" But looking at the speakers I think that's probably the best option since you already own them.

Try both of 'em- see what you like better.

Talking

Thank you all for your insight/suggestions. I now have the Polk R300's as my front left and front right with a Polk CS1 as my center, with the Bose 201's as my rear surrounds and a Sapphire PSB3 subwoofer. I hope to post some pics of the setup shortly.
