For being a low-budget direct-to-video release, the CGI effects in Tremors 5 were surprisingly solid and far better than anything in an Asylum/Syfy movie. I was kind of fearing that to be honest but was really impressed with the level of CGI it had.

Not gonna complain (all movies should have Burt Gummer in them), but it's interesting that they're still doing Michael Gross solo-films when Kevin Bacon is starring in an entire upcoming Tremors TV series -- wonder if they're gonna tie into each other continuity-wise, or if the Gummerverse will stand on its own?

From what I've read, the TV series is disregarding all the sequels and just following on from the original movie.

Burt already had his own tv series, so his universe already had a 1 season show and every movie under its belt.

That's right. I forget about that old series sometimes. I never did get a chance to see it. Sci Fi Channel wasn't part of our cable tier package at the time and by the time it got added, the show had ended and they weren't even showing reruns anymore. I'd always heard mixed to negative reaction of the show but would still like to check it out sometime.

The show struggled for several episodes before finding its footing... Still, that said the series was aired out of order so a lot didn't make sense and led to a lot of confusion. It was not intened to be aired like that. During this era of Sci fi Channel there was a lot of jerking series around. It is on DVD for a not horrible price

I enjoyed parts 1, 2, and 3.

Part 4, I didn't like at all. The fact that it was a prequel taking place in the Old West, wasn't for me.

I still need to see part 5.

Just preordered it as soon as I saw they were making a 6th. I love this franchise.

I do have the 4-movie collection on Blu, and #5 seems to have been generally well-received, so maybe I should get caught up.

While I absolutely adore the first film, I similarly regard all the sequels as typical DTV fair that at their best fails to quite cut the muster, at worst too silly to enjoy without alcohol. Sadly, I don't drink. Still, I can't stop watching them, hoping the next one will be on par with the first.

Funny. My favorite of the series was #4. I've always been a huge fan of Westerns and I loved the idea of combining a comedy/horror film with a Western.

I enjoyed the first Tremors & I honestly don't remember the second one even though I know I've seen it. I haven't bothered with any of the rest. I think I lost a stack of brain cells while reading the description of A Cold Day In Hell that will never be recovered.

The old TV series was kind of fun as a follow up to Tremors 3. Not bad on DVD. I agree that after the Tremors 1, the rest were somewhat weaker. But as a whole, the franchise has been a real hoot!

The TV series is really fun. I wish they had another season, especially with the MixMaster plot line.

No. The first one IMO was just barely passable. (Saw it in theater)

Kinda surprised there is no bluray complete collection box set being released with this? Just a DVD set that comes out for 19.96 on the same day Walmart will have.

Kevin Bacon has been involved with the new series since the start, and now Fred Ward is coming back!!! We just need Michael Gross (as he's stuck with the franchise ever since), and then I'll be in Graboid heaven!
