I was being facetious.

Though now that I think about it this site is full of people who don't seem to actually go to the movies and may not have seen this yet. It has only made 45 mil domestic (65 mil overall).

I know it will change but i got a small chuckle out of the blu-ray price being $19.99, DVD $29.98 and 4k $34.19

No commentary? No Dolby Vision? No Atmos remix? I'm buying it anyway. It's still a fantastic movie, still has HDR, is 4K resolution (even though it's an upscale), and I never understood why a movie that doesn't have Atmos in the theater should get it on home video (same way I don't expect a movie that was never shown in 3D theatrically to suddenly get a 3D Blu-ray release just because Blu-ray supports 3D).

I do like commentaries, but I'll defer to Del Toro's judgement that it doesn't need it. At least the package still has other extras.

Wish GDT did another commentary but it's not the end of the world. Hopefully the other bonus materials make up for it.

yet, Daddy's Home 2 release gets a 4K Dolby Vision, Dolby ATMOS release; The Shape of Water release gets Dolby Dick!

how does this kinda shit happen? the movie that's that's got the content, screaming for video/audio uptick in 4K, gets nothing, the movie that's not, gets it all!

How many times does this need to be told to you? Fox has not yet released any Dolby Vision content on UHD Blu-Ray and won't for the foreseeable future. They support another dynamic metadata format. Yes, it sucks that not every UHD can have Dolby Vision, but if you were expecting this one to have it, then that's on you for being unaware of the facts of the situation.

For those lamenting lack of a commentary, here's a commentary for one scene:

Similarly, Fox only provides Atmos on UHD when the film has a theatrical Atmos mix, so it shouldn't have been expected here either. To go a little further down the line, expect the UHD of Greatest Showman to have Atmos, and for the UHD of The Post to not.

completely agree - Fox's stance on not remixing movies just for the sake of UHD sales is pretty cemented. Paramount and Sony can do what they please in this respect but getting one's panties all in a bunch over Fox is pointless. For it's worth 'The Post' doesn't need an Atmos mix, it's 7.1 mix is outstanding without putting sound in the overheads - which it doesn't need.

Daddy’s Home 2 was a fairly big budget, successful movie for Paramount so it makes sense they’d give it a 4K release even if it didn’t really need it.

Not necessarily, Independence Day had a great DTS-X remix and meanwhile Kingsman, The Revenant, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Life of Pi, and Days of Future Past didn't get Atmos on UHD but did have theatrical Atmos mixes, IIRC.

If there's a steelbook for Shape of Water, there's nothing about it in the 2018 USA Steelbook thread, or elsewhere in the steelbook forum, at this time.

Be wary of this eBay seller.

So far there's only an India steelbook announced. The seller on eBay has them imported and is trusted by many here. Here's some links for you.
