I doubt you'll see any other disc formats after this. Most of the studios are begrudgingly releasing in this format as is. As soon as Disney buys Fox and starts their streaming service, you'll see even less 4k disc output.

There is barely any pure 4k media as is except for the occasional 35mm scan.

It's not about quality, it's about control. Streaming truly controls.
