With so many 3D blurays not being released in the U.S, is there a list anyplace of which ones were released in 3D but not in the U.S? I think Iv'e probably missed several at least assuming there was no 3D because it only shows up 2D here.

Unless you have a region-free player, make sure the disc's you order are either Region A or region-free. Region-Free disc's == All-Region discs == ABC region discs. As always, you mileage may vary. Last edited by the13thman; 03-11-2018 at 12:05 AM. Reason: removed dead link |

I live in New York State.
I'm thinking about buying some 3D movies from Amazon.UK or Zavvi. But I'm not sure if most people prefer one over the other. I did buy from Amazon.UK before but with Standard shipping it took like 3 to 4 weeks to get the bluray. So I was wondering if Zavvi might be faster at a decent price for shipping and if some people here can let me know if and why one maybe better than the other. and I want to get The Last Jedi and Thor 3 in 3D, but I'm afraid that if I pre-order it, they might ship it out before we get any announcement that they might release a limited supply of 3D discs to like Best Buy only, or something like that. anyone got tips on these questions for me. Thanks. |

Go to Amazon.de (german amazon.) They have great deals. 3d is cheap in Germany, they give you big discounts after you put 5 or more in your cart, and the shipping stays at the same level whether you get 5 or 25. And they are reasonably fast. I have an average wait of about 7 to 10 days. I cannot speak to individual pre-order releases. The thread for a particular title will tell you who is the best to get from, i.e., cheapest fastest earliest release, etc.

Hi Mason,
I've had trouble with Zavvi and would not recommend them should there be a problem. I once placed a duplicate order and tried cancelling it less than ten minutes later. It was too late. And they only covered 15% return shipping which for two discs cost $24, so over $19 came out of my pocket. They also described Terminator 2 being all region and when I found out it was region B it was too late to cancel. OK, Zavii agreed to reimburse me for the $22.50 return shipping costs upon providing a postal receipt which I emailed to them. Got the refund for the disc but nothing more. After a few weeks wrote an email and they said they would look into it. Few days later they said they needed my PayPal information to give a credit. They had done nothing up to that point. Two weeks later and nothing in PayPal. Wrote to them and got a response it could have been credited to another order (never placed one). Wrote back angry and asked if they even read history of probkem? Next response was to send them proof of postage payment. Wrote back I was sick and tired, was not going to resubmit anything to them and was going to file a complaint to PayPal. The next day I got my money back. So that's my experience. To not allow cancelling of an order placed ten minutes before and only refunding 15% return shipping, then ignoring what they promised with T2, I would not recommend them one bit. |

I barely use Amazon.co.uk but if I were to use them it would only be if they had a better price than Zavvi after the VAT is removed and factor in the shipping. I have placed well over 20 orders with Zavvi over the past year. I mostly order steelbooks and haven’t had a single one arrived damaged. One got lost in the mail and they immediately sent out a replacement.

I mostly buy from Amazon UK, and most movies take about 2 weeks to show up which isn't bad .
Also it seems that after I place my order, the price drops a few dollars. I ordered the the mummy 3D for about 9.99 pounds and it ended up being 5. 50 pounds after I placed the order. Same with many movies I have purchased. I have only bought one movie from zavvi so far , moana 3d steelbook and it arrived in good time and good shape, but unless on sale steelbooks aren't worth it IMO. |

Exactly that. They said because I ordered special sale priced items the computer already sent the order out to the warehouse for packaging. Can't believe it went from my tablet into human hands in 600 seconds and that it could not just be voided by that same system. |

I guess if having to choose between Zavvi and Amazon it would depend on how many items you order at once to save on shipping costs and VAT removal with Amazon vs no VAT removal from Zavvi but a great $3 shipping rate. I think Zavvi's packaging is overall better and everything has arrived undamaged from them while 50% of my Amazon purchases arrive damaged. |

Great memory! Placed on a Sunday night (about three in the morning London time). But if one could get the processing started that quickly without not allowing one to cancel, it creates problems for expensive return shipping. Even when I wrote to them trying to cancel the order and was told it was too late, they apologized but said they would cover 15% only, which is their policy. So I was screwed for their efficiency? ![]() |

I use Zavvi. Never a problem. Also I have never had a problem with canceling an order with Zavvi. Sorry Joe that you had issues with them.

I prefer amazon.uk over Zavvi. Have always had great service with Amazon and get thing in roughly 7-10 days after placing my order. I made a few orders with Zavvi and my first item didn’t come for over 2 months. I emailed a few times and were told to keep waiting. Over 2 months I said that was pretty bad and finally agreed to resend my Salazar’s Revenge steelbook. After that I got my orders from them in about one weeks time and then my first order arrived like 2 weeks later. Amazon was late with my Great Wall and apologized and resent my order no problem and again got about 7 days later. About a month and a bit later my first order arrived of said movie. Hoping for fast receiving for my Thor Ragnorok steelbook and will more than likely order The Last Jedi soon

That's ok. If the orders were fine there would have been no problem and I would have been a very satisfied customer based on price and quick delivery. It was their refusal to take on the expensive return shipping costs due to being unable to immediately cancel an order plus being bounced around for over a month that one has to be on guard with. |

Zavvi and Amazon.co.uk are both fine.
You have to check both for the lowest price because they both have sales going on at any point in time. Amazon's customer service is second to none and I think sometimes we take it for granted that all online CS should be like that. Zavvi's CS is not as good. You cannot cancel an order if an item was in-stock when you ordered it -- even if it was 10 s after you placed the order. That's just the way Zavvi works. For single items, it is cheaper for shipping with Zavvi. However, if you can amass a large order, oftentimes Amazon is cheaper -- but not always. |

Zavvi’s CS has always sucked but Amazon UK have gone downhill with packaging and shipping times. Lately I have gravitated to the EU Amazon sites (DE, FR, IT, ES) and love the new super cheap shipping option plus you can usually contact them in English if you have a problem and they have always let me keep damaged product even though they ship replacements at no cost. You can also usually buy premium 3D editions like steellbooks, digibooks, digipacks, etc. for the same price or less than the non-3D US counterparts. I was lucky enough to score an HDZeta Wonder Woman boxset but love my Amazon.es 3D Digibook that I bought for <$20 including shipping. I already preordered Amazon.es Justice League 3D Digibook for $25 including shipping! I cannot ovestate how nice it is to add an item to the cart and watch the price drop due to VAT removal.

I wonder if I'm losing mine. Amazon UK also removes that VAT and is cheaper in nearly every case. Amazon DE has a ton of titles no one has ever heard of cheap, but only occasionally has a top movie cheaper. The nicest thing that "sometimes" happens on German releases is the sleeve is reversible so you can hide the ratings tags.
