I wonder if the dongle for that can be configured for use w/ a Logitech Harmony remote. If so, I'll get the remote (or just the dongle, if that's possible!)

It should work fine. I'm waiting for this to be able available in Canada so I can get it to program my Harmony 550. The ideal solution would be for Logitech to release a bluetooth+IR remote, but this will have to do until that happens.

I like the PS3 Bluetooth remote. It's hard adjusting when your so used to pointing at your devices with regular IR remotes. But i got used to it now.

The only thing I don't like is how it turns the PS3 on by pressing any button once. I have accidently turned it on many times. It's annoying some times.
I wish they would add an option to the PS3 remote to have it only turn on PS3 by holding down the PS button for 2 seconds. This would definately solve the problem.

I wish there was a button that would turn it OFF.

But I do love the Bluetooth remote. It's so cool, i think all remotes should use bluetooth. No more pointing at the device to get a good line-of-sight for the signal.

I don't really see how you can accidentally press a remote button. I've never had that problem.

Remotes that use RF signals can do this, like the logitech harmony 890.

And the end of the remote has to point the same way as your face?

Just got the PS3 IR remote from Amazon and must say it works like a champ. No problems whatsoever. The Bluetooth remote has a few buttons that the IR one doesn't like audio, subtitle, eject, and most important the PS button. I'm able to do just about everything with the IR remote that can be done with the Blutooth remote except power off the PS3. You can now even eject a disc with the IR remote under ver 1.90 software. Was also able to use it to program my universal remote. Any questions, let me know.

So you can operate your PS3 with a regular Universal remote now? I know that's what you wrote, but I want to make sure I've got that correct, because if so, I will get one and program my Harmony 880 for it. How did you get it to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I can operate my PS3 with a regular universal IR remote now. I have just a no-name universal remote, but it learns IR commands from other remotes by pointing them at each other while pushing corresponding buttons on each remote.

Now you can tell your PS3, "Is that a dongle I see, or are you just glad I'm playing with you?"

I forgot about that, I'm so used to having the harmony program have all the commands in it that I completely spaced the learn feature.

There is. Hold in the PS button for about 4 seconds. You'll get a menu with options to turn off the system.
