Loved Voltron in the 80’s. My son watches this series. He is super psyched for these new episodes

I really need to catch up on this show. I watched the first couple of episodes when it first came to Netflix and enjoyed them, but haven't watched much since.


For any fans of the original Voltron, I thought I'd share this. In addition to the current toys based on the new series, mixed in with them now are some "Voltron '84" Lions that combine to form the original Voltron. Below I have linked a video review of them.


The coolest part is that, similar to the main combining lion toys based on the new series, the black lion for this set has electronic sounds, and has certain sounds that occur when the other lions attach to it.

My absolute favorite part of that feature is when you connect all of the other lions to it, upon attaching the last one (it doesn't matter what order you attach them in), the voices go into the full transformation sequence from the original show:

"Activate interlock! Dynotherms connected! Infracells up! Mega thrusters are go!... Form feet and legs! Form arms and body! And I'll form the head!"

After I saw this review, I knew I had to get them. After tracking down the black and yellow lions, I stopped in at a near by Target earlier this week and found the other three. I was like a kid at Christmas when I combined them and it went into that voice sequence.
