I refuse. The only time I did it was for the dark knight. I was lucky that I purchased most of my blu's when our currency was good but most of them I purchased thru here. If you wait a couple weeks I guarantee the movie you want will be here in the trading forum.

You know, sometimes I read reviews of movies and I end up really liking poorly reviewed films. Case in point, I really enjoyed the poorly reviewed Death Race. I saw it at the theaters and purchased the BD and watched it twice already. It's a fun over the top movie experience.

Then there's Bangkok Dangerous. What can I say about this piece of garbage film that has already not been said??? All I know is I wish I had my 2 hours back. In this case, I should have listened to the reviews and not bothered to rent it.

Agree on both counts. BK was frickin' horrible. Can Cage even act anymore? Talk about mumbling.

DR was completely over the top.

Me too. When DVDs came out, they were more expensive than VHS tapes that cost more to produce than DVDs. But it was new and they knew people who had the money to buy the players would pay for the movies at higher price.

But, the prices never came down. So now $27 for a new release on DVD is common.

Blu-rays are being sold at $35 and they hope you start to get used to it and consider it the new price point. Well not this guy. If everybody were to boycott any blu-ray disc more than $25, the prices would come down.
The only 2 titles I have right now is Saw ($13) and Planet Earth ($40 through Amazon UK).

Even though I'd love to have Dark Knight, I'm not paying $32 for it.

I'm trying to budget what Blus I pick up, going by what the cheapest ones are, and what ones I love and want to pick up. The most I've ever paid was $100 for Band of Brothers, and $35 for TDK, but now i'm not paying any more than $25, and am going to maybe see what previously viewed discs I can find.
