When 3-D Blu-ray first hit around 2011, we tried to convince everyone that held rights to these properties to work with us and move forward to release on 3-D Blu-ray. Nobody was interested and all adopted a wait-and-see attitude. It was a classic chicken or egg scenario.

Paramount got a LOT of complaints about HUGO (crosstalk on poor displays) and because of that outcry, would not release HONDO in 3-D in 2012 even though the Wayne Estate offered it to them on a silver platter.

Warner Bros. finally took a chance but spent SO much money on each title - up to $300K for just one film - that any chance for profits went out the window.

The only reason we began to get our titles out was because we owned the rights and had the luxury of being flexible with our licensing terms. Frank Tarzi took a shot when he was at Olive and it was uphill from there.

But we received many, MANY rejection letters while some companies (Shout for one) expressed interest and then strung us along for more than a year before officially declining any of our titles. Criterion passed on 3-D RARITIES ("The material is not interesting") and that's been our biggest seller.

It's been a long, uphill battle across the board. Thankfully, we've established a successful formula for delivering high-quality restorations for pennies on the dollar (we make next to nothing, to be honest) but Richard Lorber and Kino are securing the licenses and we'll keep plugging along.

Which is weird because this is easily my favorite 3d movie and it looks great on both my displays, neither of which are top of the line I don't think.

Anyway, thanks for your continued efforts!
