I saw this in school and watched it again about a week ago. This is truly a great doc on Waco: Free for Prime Members as well. Everyone should see it.

It's truly unsane.
Relatively accurate. There are some minor historical inaccuracies, such as the fact that it rained during day 1 of the Siege and stuff. But the important stuff was accurately done.

Here's more info in great detail

Or if you don't want to read, Paramount made a companion documentary series to this series for free on Youtube. Here's part 1

They asked Thibbodeau and Noesner their thoughts on the show as well

Quote:
Thibodeau told The Dallas Observer, "The show got some small details wrong," though he understood that moments of creative license were "necessary to create drama." According to SmithMountainLake.com, Noesner told an audience of friends at a preview screening that he'd been approached about several projects having to do with Waco over the years, and that he "was delighted with this outcome.” He also said that his opinion was sought and often — though not always — taken. Noesner spent time with Shannon as well, and claimed that much of the dialogue between FBI agents was taken directly from his book.

The problem is though that we don't know exactly how everything went down. The ATF says the Davidians fired first, and the Davidians say the ATF shot first. So you have things like that.

This has been so good it makes me wish it could be an ongoing series instead of just a mini-series. Looking forward to the final episode tonight.

Wow. What a finale. I've longed lamented how television doesn't really seem to have good event mini-series anymore like I remember in the '80s and '90s. But this was amazing and one of the best things I've seen on TV in a long time. Very powerful. I hope this gets a Blu-ray release with plenty of documentaries and interviews, for both the mini-series and the real-life event.

I hope we get this in the UK soon.
I remember when it happened and following it on the news,I also recall a TV movie about it.

This sounds a lot better though.

The real life Thibodeau had a cameo in the finale.

(I read that the actual Noesner had a cameo too, but can't find any screenshots.)

I noticed that. And the real Noesner was the guy who came out of the courtroom and told Noesner they were ready for his testimony.

In one of those "Relevations of Waco" episodes, they show old video of Thibodeau from 1993, and I was amazed at how much he actually did look like Rory Culkin at the time.

Man, this was really good overall.

The finale was excellent. Really harrowing stuff well done.

Cast was great across the board. Shannon was especially great in the scene where
[Show spoiler]his boss sends him packing.

I would love to see Paramount Network hire the same people behind this to do a Timothy McVeigh miniseries or something similar.

I'm also interested in reading Noesner's book.

I hope this comes to Netflix for the rest of the world. I always kept believing in Taylor Kitsch (great in True Detective 2), would love to see this.

I'd also love to see a mini-series based on Jim Jones and Jonestown from the people behind Waco.

Oh yes. Now that would be amazing.

Great showcase for an actor too. Powers Boothe gave one of the all-time great performances as Jim Jones imo.

So many great potential real-life stories they can bring us.

I've always wanted to see that older TV movie with him but never have. I did see a really great 2006 documentary, though, called Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple. Very powerful.

I wonder why Paramount Network never re-aired this? It's not like they have any other programming, especially since they wussed out on Heathers.

I only found out about it just as the series was wrapping up, so I've been checking the Paramount schedule regularly since the finale. So far nothing.

I know, it's crazy. I had a friend who missed the first two episodes and was hoping to catch up before the third. But the only reruns were encore showings later the same night after they premiered, usually about midnight. I twice briefly saw reruns also scheduled for just before the next new episode but at the last minute they would disappear and be replaced by a movie instead.

In any event, I saw a FB post from Paramount Network earlier saying the entire mini-series is now available for streaming from their site.

Man this mini series was phenomenal! It really did a fantastic job showing both sides of the coin. I admit I felt for the davidians during the series. The FBI and ATF commanders were just so damn inept its not funny. Thankfully the rules of engagement have now changed and blunders like this should never happen again. On the flip side the Davidians had ample opportunity to leave, and I truly believe had the building not caught fire and the wives and children died more would have come out.
