To be fair, that seems to be the title of the video, and not for the game. In-trailer, it's just called Super Smash Bros. I agree, they should give them original titles, though. I think it made sense for Wii U/3DS since they were versions of the same game released at the same time. It doesn't seem like they have an official title here yet, so we shall see.

The page for the Nintendo Direct is calling it "Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros. (working title)," so maybe that gives you some hope? lol. I feel like they'll come up with a name for it since it isn't a dual release like Wii U/3DS was. I agree that numbering them works just fine.
I'm wondering if it will be a new game or 'definitive edition' port of Wii U/3DS with DLC and new content. I guess, arguably, there isn't much of a need for it to be built from the ground up at this point. Not that it matters much to me since I never played the previous game on Wii U/3DS. ![]() |

I just noticed something else, at the end of the trailer in the bottom right is this:
![]() Bandai Namco worked on Smash 4, and this is being worked on by HAL. I’ve been saying from the beginning they wouldn’t port over 4, and it seems it is in fact a new game. |

That's just saying that HAL developed the original game. It's likely a legal thing they have to put in.

Fine but what about the fact that the Link used in the trailer is form Breath of the Wild, which wasn't in Smash 4? They wouldn't add a different Link into a port.

I'm not saying this isn't a new game, but it's just too early to make a definitive statement either way. A new character and a new skin doesn't mean it's a completely new game. |

I feel that if it was a port, Nintendo would had announced the full name of it like the other ports and shown a little more. I truly it's a brand new game in the Smash Bros series. Why tease a port? Perhaps that will be the main theme at this years E3 for them like how last year was Super Mario Odyssey and the year before was Breath of the Wild.

I feel this is a missed opportunity to do something a little different like make a tagteam based Smash & play up the name Smash Bros Switch.
Just as long as they add the following fighters to the roster of the WII U version i'll be happy. Simon Belmont,Bomber Man,King K Rool,Travis Touchdown,RayMan,Spring Man or Ribbon Girl & reinstate Ice climbers + Solid Snake with labo box ) If you was gonna go all out over the top roster add in Crash Bandicoot,Goemon,Goku,Ninja turtles,Excite Bike Rider Last edited by TotoroDragon; 03-15-2018 at 01:36 AM. |
