I just ordered my first supply from retroprotection.com. Hopefully everything works out fine. I ordered a batch of their steelbook protectors, but will be using them for blus with slipcovers as well. Hope it looks all nice and uniform!

Same experience for me. I put in an order on Tuesday (SCF2,3,4,& 8) and it will be here late today or early tomorrow. Phenomenal service by Steelbookcentral.

Yeah I was going to buy a bunch until I saw they're out of stock. Obviously, this is their best seller. Hopefully, they'll be back in stock by April.

When it comes to Zavvi steelbooks what do you recommend the steelbook wraps or the enclosed steelbook protectors?
I got a steelbook recently from eBay that was in one of there wraps and I was amazed at the quality of it,I have just been using cheap poly bags.
The wraps are cheap and I could buy much more, but I do like he look of them protectors though.
Has anyone gone from using wraps to protectors or still use wraps.

Standard steelbooks like zavvi's are Steelbook Central SCF1 or SC2 (side loading)
-slipcovers not wraps-

Yes but you get sleeve wraps as well wondering what people's preference was and why as they are way cheaper.

Slipcovers are much better for protection and presentation.
Wraps are more like putting your steels in a ziplock bag.

I might just go for scf1 when in stock but i will need about 250 or so.
They are all sealed with j card apart from maybe a couple and probably be left sealed.
Are the scf1 the most popular ones?
Being fully enclosed dont they scratch steelbooks with the flaps?
Apart from the digibook wrap sleeves i take there is nothing else for them.
I have two zavvi lenticular steelbooks i asume scf1 will fit.
I also have a few jumbo steelbooks but not sure if all same size whats required for them?
I suppose with buying the protectors will not need to upgrade to anything else where as wrap sleeves might not look so nice later.
Anyone know when scf1 are in stock as if too long might just grab the wraps instead.

I just received my second order from blu steels. I am very pleased with these slips because I like the one side open instead of it being inside a box per-say. There a little high in price but worth it to me.

Those slips won't fit a steel with the j-card right?

a thin paper j-card will fit...
if the j-card is thicker... good luck... i have been able to fit some in but i have recently started using the SC3 for my non premium steels and those fit j-cards without issue...

Media Psychos are now also out of SCF1 protectors. I ordered 30 and one day later was refunded. They said their inventory was incorrect and they were sold out. They won't have any back in stock until May.

Is there anything like a zavvi style box to ship steelbooks in the USA? I see steelbook central might have something in the UK but is there anything over here that’s similar?

I have some steelbooks to sell and most aren’t worth more than $15-$20 on eBay so I’d like to keep shipping costs down. I won’t use bubble mailers because even if they arrive in great shape, I know people will say they didn’t and ask for their money back.

Thanks.

I just save all my shipping boxes from Zavvi and Asian labels to use for my shipments.
You can always scrounge at various places of business. Or just buy boxes and add the cost to your sale price.

I don’t have anything saved or I would and I have no idea what kind of box would be perfect for steels. If I ship in the kind of box my Asian exclusives ship in, I’d really have to overload with bubble wrap, which would jack up the cost too much for steels worth mostly $15-$20.

We have no steelbook boxes (or just boxes perfect for steelbook shipping) for sale in the entire country?

Anyone in Phoenix want a great “lot” of about 15 steelbooks?

Parcel costs are calculated by weight, so as long as it doesn’t go too big you should be okay. Any type of media box should fit your needs.

I have no idea what media boxes to choose or what size they are. And anything packed in one of my Asian exclusive boxes with bubble wrap is easily going to be heavy enough to immediately go to priority mail pricing. I’m just trying to find zavvi like boxes. Just enough room for the steelbook and a bit of bubble wrap.
