Just received miner earlier today. Looking forward to spinning this tonight. Love the packaging. Hope the transfer is good so that I can retire my DVD.

I never thought of Alice, Sweet Alice as a slasher film even though now I realize it's the very definition of one. To me it always felt more like a murder mystery/thriller. It's a really good old-fashioned horror flick and I can't wait to revisit it via this new disc.

From the UK to Seattle in under a week? That's blisteringly fast.

Looks kind of awful TBH. I don't have the DVD so I'll end up getting it when it's discounted anyway, if no one else comes up with a different source. The mirror pic is a particularly good illustration of the shortcomings.

My last 2 88 orders have taken close to two weeks (same with Amazon UK), but I have received previous packages from them in 4-5 days. The quickest international shipping for me has been from Amazon.de, where my orders have taken 3 days to arrive.

My last 2 Amazon UK orders took about 6 weeks to arrive and my last order that was supposed to arrive on March 3 still hasn’t been delivered, I don’t know wtf their deal is lately. 88 usually takes only a week or so.

It looks a lot better than the DVD to me.

Just finished this. Great film as always. Enjoyed it very much. As far as the transfer is concerned, it has its limitations. I think, based on the source elements, 88 Films has done as well with this as they possibly could.

Some of the colour breathing/fluctuation that they mention in their restoration feature still exists, although god knows what it looked like in the original source elements. It's almost like a firelight glow scanning across the picture. It's not really bad or anything but it's there. Muted, but noticeable. Well, at least to me.

A few instances of flicker. Couple of scratches/green lines etc. Nothing major. Sometimes the transfer looks good and other times a little washed out/faded. Whites are very white lol. But blacks are only very occasionally deep and solid, which is a shame. Grain is a bit messy sometimes. Not the finely resolved type you get from a 4k scan of a negative. But, I suppose that's to be expected from a 2k scan of an old print.

I would say it reminded me of watching the Black Christmas transfer in terms of overall quality (although it has its moments of being slightly better strangely enough). It's definitely comparable to that.

Considering what the original elements looked like (based on the restoration feature) 88 have done a bang up job with this. As good as it's likely to get and whilst it sounds like I'm picking out the negatives, it does have its moments of being surprisingly good. I'm not sorry I bought it, that's for sure.

Shipped on Monday, in my mailbox this morning. Nice and fast. I'm going to check this out tonight.

Going by caps, this shouldn't be too bad, even if it looks washed out at times, and grain looks a little dodgy. I suppose this is the best 88 could do with the source. It will be a huge upgrade over my old dvd (unlike the waste of money that I spent double dipping blus on The Toolbox Murders).

I wasn't aware that Holy Terror is a US title for this, and would have preferred the reverse art to have been Communion art, still it's no biggie.

If Warner Archives ever pull their finger out and get their release of Alice on the market, I'll doubtlessly double-dip.

88, please consider a faster shipping option for US buyers. Thanks for using Royal Mail and not Ascendia, though!

Our next option available through our fulfilment centre is DHL which costs us £25 per shipment. Would you pay for that?

Probably not. But I think you're being ripped off. I've had orders ship from Amazon Japan via DHL and it's never that expensive. Do you mean it costs YOU 25 pounds bulk rate to have stuff shipped to your offices?

Their current shipping speed is just fine. I had an order shipped last Friday and arrived today. Anything going from the UK to the US in a week is perfectly acceptable in my book.

Why isn't this available on Amazon UK? Or am I just missing it?

Don't need the slipcover.
