Default PS3 1.9 Firmware Update @ 24Hz

Hey There,

After lurking here for a couple of weeks, I decided to jump in! You seem like a great bunch of people and I'm happy to be part of the group.

I use a SONY PS3 to watch Blu-Ray movies. Last night, I downloaded the latest firmware upgrade (1.9) which includes a feature that forces BD output to 24mhz through an HDMI connection.

Has anyone else tried this?

I viewed "WAITING..." on blu-ray @ 24mhz and the picture looked amazing! It's a pretty good movie if you're into raunchy humor. Just curious to see if anyone else got a kick out of the 24mhz output.

By the way, I've found "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" to be the best BD picture I've seen. The movie is kinda cheesey, but the digital imagry is top-notch! I heard "Apocalypto" has good resolution too. I'll probably watch it tonight.

Hello and welcome.

Unfortunately my small Bravia doesn't support 24Hz but I'm glad you got a kick out of the motion improvement on your TV.

If you thought Resident Evil was good PQ, you'll be floored by POTC 1,2, Hellboy, Fifth Element-remaster, Bridge to Terabithia, the list goes on...

I have a European version, Samsung LE40M86. I guess it's the equivalent to Samsung LN-T4065F...
