3D listing is up at Amazon UK (although not able to be ordered yet). Distributed by Universal, so it's almost certain that there will not be a 3D release in the US.

And yes, this will be region free. It even says so in Amazon's title.

It’s out on Friday and still no reviews...doesn’t bode well. With RP1 out next week I think Pacific Rim is going to be crushed.

this movie looks like a disaster. Will watch Tomb Raider again instead. Because we need that sequel for it.

The first one was great but this one loses everyone involved with the first

the fight scene that was featured on Jimmy Fallon had hideous cheap looking special effects --- ugh

Can someone who sees this in 3D in the theater post a review of the 3D? The first one had great 3D, and I'm tempted to skip Movie Pass to pay for a 3D screening of the sequel just because I feel like it's not actually going to be that great so the 3D visuals will help make it worth watching. But I would like to know if the 3D conversion is actually any good. Because if it's not, then it's probably better to just use Movie Pass and not actually spend money out of my own pocket for it.

3D version is up for pre-order on Amazon. Not sure what to make of this. Universal did the same thing with Despicable Me 3 but then canceled the release.

Just back from the theatres, unlike the 3D of the first film, I think this one was a bland conversion, just nothing memorable on 3D. Also the movie sucks.

Saw this in IMAX 3D. Personally, I thought the 3D was excellent.

The combination of the action, special effects and 3D makes the third act a visual feast. Yeah, the 3D seemed stronger during the third/final act. The first half of the movie has good medium/strong 3D with non-action scenes being somewhat mild.

As for the movie itself..........it's Pacific Rim. And these Pacific Rim movies are stupid. The first one was 'stupid but FUN'. I would say this sequel is 'stupid but SPECTACULAR'. The premise is stupid but I enjoyed both films.

Recommend that you see this on the largest screen possible. Looked great in IMAX.

Glad you enjoyed Tomb Raider. That was a fun, action movie.

I'm a fan of Pacific Rim 1, but the 3D I saw in the trailer for this new one has me wondering why they didn't invest more on the conversion. Probably to save money. Oh well. I'll see it for the story and action, but it looks entertaining as a fan of the first.

I'll check it out this weekend, but thankfully some reviews are in from other forum members.

Thanks Ryan. That's interesting. I think they'll wait to see how many people pre-order it to get a sense of interest. If it's not enough, they'll bail.

Thanks for the 3D review. From what I saw of the 3D trailer, I agree, the 3D didn't stand out as with the first movie and it's trailer in 3D. I'll keep an open mind though.

Cool, thanks Rickstar. Glad you enjoyed the film and the 3D.

I'll definitely see this one as a big fan of the first movie, though I can't imagine it'll be much new based on the trailers anyway. They really needed to rethink those trailers to highlight the story more, as in the first one, there's a good story in there revolving around the lead characters and their motivations. Good trailers otherwise for action fans.

With John Carter 3D, they did the same thing, just show trailers about the action and that one tanked in theaters. Pacific Rim 1's trailers were mostly action too. I guess they know their audience and aren't looking to reach new audience members from the trailers I've seen.

The first one got much of the scaling and physics wrong. Hard fail. How am I suppose to have suspension of disbelief , when the scale and physics are all wrong. I want to believe, and enjoy. Did they fix any of the that stuff for the new one?

Examples of the previous scale errors.

4 helicopters lift a jeager with a sling, Yet these building sized things topple skyscrapers like sand castles. So the yeagers are heavy, but lifted by 4 copters. Is it big and heavy or light weight for transport? HEAVY.

Kiaju with tail cut off looks bad. The 3D model in whole does not work for me. They should have had it endure some other injury.

The oil tanker boat, scale is wrong. or seems to change. Not much wider than 4 lanes at one point, bow to stern when lodged between two opposing buildings.

Flying into stadium landing with front jet thrust was a poor idea at best. Storyboards , that was the best one? How about a Chute?

Dumb words, no KRULL level dialog , that is for sure. Is there one line worth repeating?

I did not like the buildings in the back ground either they look like wallpaper.

Make enough of these mistakes , and it no longer works.

Marvel has some big problems too. 3D Aztec calender's cannot save DS. The 3D was not as strong as people hyped. Mild store front like, with medium 3D on the holes people drew.

How does Dr Strange survive a Pericardial Tamponade and run around afterward? He needs the ICU. Hes gonna be sitting out after that, for a while. Cardiogenic shock. There is a spell for that right?.. Wong? I mean wrong.

Oh no, am I that guy..you know the one.
